Be careful purchasing anything that you are going to ingest, and/or put into your body from resell market places....such as Amazon, Ebay, etc.

Many of their resellers have been busted for relabeling GOK ingredients, and selling as brand name products.

The ‘effective ingredient’ in Xlear is xylitol....a commonly found sweetening agent found in sugar free food items and toothpastes/mouthwashes.

You can easily, and inexpensively, make an iodine (Betadine, etc.) nasal wash/gargle, to do the same, or better job.

Yeah, I was wondering about that, but I thought I’d check out eBay and look at the sellers. I found a nasal spray on Walmart.com called Xynase, and it has the same ingredients, including xylitol, as Xlear. I may stick with that. Or check out iherb.com that someone suggested upthread. Thanks!

Neti pots are great. After working in the yard, especially cutting the grass, using the Neti pot will astound with the crap that comes out of your head. If you use it regularly, and at the first sign of “not feeling right”, you can avoid a lot of colds, sinus infections, etc.

I agree, that’s why I said it’s like hand-sanitizer for the nose, read what’s in that stuff. And, at the time, not knowing what to expect with him being hospitalized, didn’t hurt to try. We only used it for a week. But I had never heard of it before and it might benefit someone else.

Certainly good info to know about.

Looks like hospitals order it by the bucket load :-)

Glad they have something available for fighting MRSA.

And, hope your hubby is doing well.

I made no claims. All I did was quote the FTC.

A simple salt water douche of the nasal passage works wonders at the first hint of illness. . It isn’t the most pleasant things to do In Hawaii, when the kids would get sick, the first thing done was to go to the beach and play in the water.

I don’t advocate that kind of thing. And in fact I will paypal you a small sum not to mention it again, because at some point some funny guy will talk about colon cleansing via the same method.

It’s amazing the gunk that gets flushed out after rinsing with salt water. Gross too. But oh what a relief.

Doctors tell people to do this all the time. But most folks would rather get a Rx for antibiotic so they can take a day off work.

Is that xylitol? I’ve heard that works well.

I use a water pick like device called “pronair”.

High volume (2 cups, one each side) salt water..

Works like charm.

Feels about as pleasant as being water boarded.

The X in Xlear stands for Xylitol. Xylitol is a sugar substitute and can be bought at the grocery store. I’ve seen it in liquid form, like stevia.
For years I’ve been making my own saline solution for my nose and using a nasal spray squeeze bottle to administer. I make a batch and put a little clove oil, oregano oil, silver, peppermint, iodine in it. It would be very easy to add xylitol to the mix.
Since Covid I also have a spray bottle of peroxide to which I have added a little zinc, clove oil, salt oregano oil. I use this to swab my nose and gargle in the morning. I have a bottle of this in my car with qtips and if I’ve been somewhere crowded I can swab my nose when I leave.
So far no Covid here.

This was posted a long time ago:

Redding doctor says there is an extra layer of protection against COVID-19 available.

It's a local TV news report from an ENT doctor in Redding, CA, who shows how to add Povidone-Iodine 10% solution to over-the-counter nasal sprays to create an antiseptic barrier in the sinus cavity.
