One of the main reasons Sen. Joe Manchin said he could not vote for President Joe Biden's "Build Back Better" bill is his concern about inflation. Manchin is worried the bill would increase deficits and debt and fuel even more inflation, which is now rising faster than it has in 40 years.
Manchin's concerns about inflation are confirmed by two recent studies. They show inflation costs the average U.S. household an incredible $5,000 a year.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed under Trump everything was his responsibility but now the MSM always has excuses? Inflation is caused by COVID and the supply chain etc.
Yeah, we don’t have a lot of extra cash either. What CAN’T CONvid do?
I have noticed that. Even vax “safety and effectiveness” to my chagrin.
But that is the hallmark of a good leader.
Democrats take zero responsibility for anything. In other words they are IRRESPONSIBLE. Or any of these would work (reckless, undependable, negligent, feckless, unreliable, immoral, immature, impractical, careless, untrustworthy, rash, unstable, arbitrary, impetuous, impulsive, irrational, unaccountable, unthinking, thoughtless, unethical, dishonest, hypocritical, reprehensible)
Yea, it was fun just running through the Thesaurus looking up descriptive words for Democrats. So Many Fitting Words!!!!
Yeah, tell me about.... :(
Yeah, well the government workers will be fine, they will just give themselves raises.
It’s a bit too early in the tenure, but my deepest hope is all this horribleness means there is a Ron at the end of the tunnel….
Thesauri are proof the English language is delightfully flexible and “diverse”.
Few remember the Carter Years and people bragging they got ONLY 14% interest rate on their home mortgage.
BINGO! that is what happened in the 70s. I watched as federal employees got steady COL increases while the rest of us got little or nothing.
Inflation is caused by the federal government, which mints money, spending money which it doesn’t have. Inflation devalues all wealth. So when government issues money to people it is taking that money from people who earned it, and giving to people who did not earn it. By any name inflation is theft.
I know Trump also had some stimulus bills but it seemed to me inflation really hit “overdrive” after Biden’s bill. I think the difference was Trumps bill was a direct payment to ALL Americans so the economy was stimulated and we had money to spend. (After saying that let’s be honest—frugality wasn’t Trumps best quality)
Also Biden has spent more in his first year than any year Trump was in office (2020 6.6 trillion, 2021 6.8 Trillion). So that’s a reason for much of the inflation, printing money. IMO.
Just for farts and giggles I also noticed in my search the last year the US had a surplus was 2001. Imagine if you had been going deeper in debt every year for 21 consecutive years….
I think it is more than that - what with gas up over $1.00/gallon, along with everything else.
I am shocked at how high my grocery bill is for just two people - who don't eat a lot of meat. I rarely get out of the market for less than $90-$100.
Because so many of them either:
1. Don't work.
2. Work as politicians.
Yet they want us to believe that their "ideas" and "feelings" about how our lives are supposed to be trump reality, data and facts.
While the media report it all with a straight face while demonizing Trump and Republicans.
I can’t believe the quality of the fruit! It’s awful! When we order groceries, most of the time the fruit we ordered has bad pieces in it. By bad, I mean oranges, strawberries with unmistakable mold on them. I picked up a bad of radishes once and some of them were actually LIQUIFIED in the bag.
And this is at all the local stores.
Sorry about your rotten fruit. One of the best things about living in California is that I can grow a lot of my own produced almost all year around.
That and everything seems to have grown smaller in size.
I picked up some King’s Hawaiian hamburger buns the other day - I’ve been buying them for decades - got home, and they were the size of their normal rolls - looked at the package to make sure they were hamburger buns. It took two to make up what one used to be.
Also, the heat-n-eat meals my local market sells used to feed two people - easily - now one barely feeds one of us, there is so much less of it.
Noticed there was a lot of air space in the liquid detergent I always buy, so there is less of it in there, despite what the label says.
The “new normal” in Biden’s America.
NYS gave $34MM of stimulus checks, to friggin INMATES!!!
We visited California back in 2005, our first and only time. We were invited by friends in Costa Mesa to stay with them for a week. It’s a beautiful state, it’s too bad the liberals have messed it up. There are a lot of places I would love to see.
