Actor and CBS executive Dwayne Hickman has died.
Hickman passed away in Los Angeles on Sunday following a battle with Parkinson’s disease, his family confirmed, according to the Los Angeles Times. He was 87.
The television actor was best known for his starring, titular role in “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis,” a teenage sitcom that aired from 1959 to 1963 on CBS. Coincidentally, the date of Hickman’s passing, Jan. 9, is the birthday of his longtime friend and co-star on the show, Bob Denver, who died in 2005 at age 70.
Before he became the “poster child of the baby boomer generation” as high school playboy Dobie Gillis, Hickman previously starred in “The Bob Cummings Show” between 1955 and 1959, his breakout television role in which he played Cummings’ nephew Chuck.

I didn’t realize until now that both Hickman and Denver were 24 year olds playing high-school students in the first season of that show. Not that unusual, though (e.g., much of the cast of Beverly Hills 90210, mid-20s Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller, etc.);

I’ve wondered (not enough to actually go check) about all those high school kids in “Friday Night Lights”...
You don’t want to know how old Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels were when they started doing The Lone Ranger and Tonto.
I was in the 1st grade through 7th grades while that show was on. I keep thinking I was getting a glimpse of what college life would be.
People with comorbidities are much more vulnerable to the jabs. After getting the 2nd Pfizer my little brother who is in his 50s ended up with a swollen and inflamed heart which caused permanent damage. He has been told that he is now much more likely to die from a heart attack.
But the jab didn't kill my little brother... he was in very good health. Since he has been an airline captain for decades he has had a mandatory flight physical twice a year for decades. If he had Parkisons he would probably be more likely to have died from the reaction the jab caused.
The way the game is played if you have a comorbidity and you die after getting the jab they say you died from the comorbidity. If you get the jab and you get Covid and you die they say you died of the comorbidity. But if you didn't get the jab and you tested positive for Covid when you were admitted or you tested positive 3 months earlier and you die from complications of the comorbidity you get counted as a Covid death.
My wife's brother was on hospice care for an inoperable cancerous brain tumor. When he died, Covid tests were not widely available, so he was still counted as a “presumptive” Covid death. That is how this game has been played from the beginning due to financial incentives to the doctors and hospitals.
Did Dwayne Hickman die from Parkinsons or with Parkinsons? Did his recent jab have anything to do with his demise? We will likely never know the answer to either of those questions.

We’ve seen a lot of this among those we know personally and those we don’t.
I dismiss them as ‘noise’ since there is no way to know.

It is amazing how some people with Parkinson’s live to be in their 80’s and stay active.
We have one BIL in his 80’s, and good friend who will be 80 this year.
Both are very active and the only real impediment is talking and lower energy. So we text.
One guy’s wife is a physical therapist in practice and as an instructor at a major college has basically put a hold on his increasing P symptoms for a decade now.
The biggest loss is their ability to carry on a good phone call at their end. So we text.
Every friend or relative with Parkinson’s had been on statins.
That is one way to look at it, but the number of people dying who have lived with comorbidities for decades then get a jab and are discussing it on Wednesday then die on Sunday is extremely alarming. So it is a little bit more than noise... It is more along the lines of saying there is no legal proof and that it is a lie that the election was stolen.
