Whether it's a shortage of grocery items or prices skyrocketing at stores—shoppers aren't happy. Due to supply chain issues that have caused strain on major retailers like Walmart, Kroger, Food Lion, Costco, customers are experiencing frustrations while shopping for food and other daily essentials at their local stores.
We reached out to our readers on Facebook and Twitter and asked them to share about the specific grocery shortages that are currently frustrating them the most. Customers from around the U.S. wrote in their current frustrations at stores—and a few repeated items popped up from shopper complaints.
“We reached out to our readers on Facebook and Twitter” Credibility = zero.
5 Grocery Shortages That Are Outraging Customers

Add ground beef, pork products and certain fruits. My wife and I went to a few places yesterday and couldn’t find these items.
Puts a crimp in the weekend's football game, but its good for at least a week.
Thats true. We are spoiled by 100,000 item supermarkets and when a few of those 100k items are not available the blubbering starts.
Interesting, I have been to CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and a couple MA/NH grocery chains. All were out. I finally asked the manager of the CVS. He said the warehouse has been out of both the CVS and Neutrogena version since August.
I did find a small bottle at Walgreens of some other brand with a lot of Spanish writing on the bottle.
Individual-sized packets of bleu cheese dressing.
Missing for months.
Ranch dressing, the availability of which in the single serve size has never seen an interruption, is not and has never been an adequate substitute.
So OGINJ suffers.
Oh the huge manatee.
If you really want to know why these shortages are occurring, go to prepping2-0.com and look up the podcasts with “Dan the Food Industry Guy.” Dan, who seeks to remain somewhat anonymous, is an executive with a packaged food producer that you would know. He also has been in the industry for a long time, and understands the supply chains very well. Everything that we’re seeing, right down to cat food shortages, as explained by Dan in these shows.
There’s a cat food shortage? Damn… how are our retired seniors going to eat under Biden’s inflation. /sarc
...fresh cranberries ...

In WI and not far from the major cranberry producers.
I don’t have inside info, but we had NO Ocean Spray. Instead, we had net bags of fresh cranberries from a nearly local producer and they were far better than Ocean Spray. Larger, cleaner and I had zero bad berries.
Do the dairies in your area sell direct to consumer? It might be something worth making a few phone calls to find out.
I don’t have a cat — not home enough to admire and serve one — but I often shop for cat lovers. The pet food aisle is often more than half empty of canned cat food.
And even when it’s not, the fare is not what I’d like if I were a cat. Too much “pate,” as if cats prefer paste or they need to gum their food. The cans are so small and the prices so high. Many labels boast gravy (water). There’s plenty of canned cat food with rice added. And absolutely no cat food with mouse meat.
The dried food is cheap and is basically vitamin cookies.
A can of tuna in the people aisle isn’t cheap but at least you know it’s 100 percent cat food and a bit on the chewy side.
Look on the bright side:
“We’re back in the USSR
Come and keep your comrade warm.”
“This is a coal tar base shampoo”
You’re supposed to be transitioning over from coal to wind (use blowdryer to blow dandruff out of har) or solar (let uv rays from sun dry up greasy hair)... lol
Good one.
Fo sho!
They were talking about you after you left.
Dopey article. Here in Free Florida we have all the consumer goods (and food) we need.
(Note to New Yorkers, et al. Please remain in New York. Thank you very much.) /s
I haven’t seen that in well over a year. Switched to Prell now,
