You can find this fun quotation puzzle, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. I challenge us with the best ones out there.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days.  If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!

I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

“It's all now you see. Yesterday won't be over until tomorrow and tomorrow began ten thousand years ago. ... This is it: the absolute edge of no return, to turn back now and make home or sail irrevocably on and either find land or plunge over the world's roaring rim.”

We canceled years ago and had to find a different fire-starter for the hearth.

As for solving……
I just played around with the 2-letter words until word 10 began to emerge.

Wow. Just got it.

First word is a very common word with a well-known third letter.
The 2-letter words, words 4 and 6, help a lot between their last letter, and grammar.

MQJ gave me fits.

I do not agree with the premise, what is mentioned is not to be trusted.

This took me a couple of hours to figure out. I started with the first word (most common letter and most common word). This got me the last two-letter word. I then spent a lot of time playing with the other two-letter words until I finally figured out the first name of the author. Then the rest flowed into place.

In hindsight, I should try to memorize the pattern of the seventh word.
