Well, at least it’s far short of the 750,000,000 U.S. cases that Justice Breyer said happened yesterday. ;-)

Yesterday’s death count was less than 10% lower than the absolute highest spike Delta peak of September. This is happening with the ever-so-mild Omicron and with a more vaxed and even boosted population than September.
It’s also happening with older fading vax immunity, and older fading recovery immunity from last winter. Maybe most of all, it is winter now, and September was not.
Anddddd South Africa, 140 Covid dead today. 10X higher than pre Omicron levels.

I thought I saw a headline that we reached a million some days ago.
Yea, but that wasn’t real, in that a lot of the million was delayed reporting over the holidays. Now we’re getting closer to actual daily numbers.
Almost comical in the excess. So according to today’s result, 1 out of every 400 Californians got COVID newly just today alone (100k / 39.5M).
The remaining population is busy bulldozing the corpses into the LA aqueduct. Right...
