Wow. Tucker Carlson just confronted Ted Cruz @tedcruz over calling Jan 6 a "violent terrorist" attack.

Also, Ray Epps gets a mention.
ššššš
Iām so mad! Directv didnāt record the show from January 6th! š¤¬
From the spectacle I saw on 1/6 (the other day that will live in infamy...) Congress wants their own special victimhood too.
And that sickening thumb sucking fetal position tells the world what this (a nation who has become nameless) Gov’t has become.
He came on Tucker, obviously panicked, and Tucker finished him off last night.
Too late Teddy.
We watched you genuflect to the Deep State and won’t forget it.
Yeah tucker was firing REAL bullets and Cruz was doing a tap dance.
I’m a ted cruz fan but he really bit off his tongue this time.
Sloppy language indeed!
Tucker Carlson is an American Treasure.
Ratchet the pressure up enough and some Republicans fold. Cruz yesterday. Lindsey Graham on 1-6-21 and shortly thereafter. Pence as Governor of Indiana when Apple threatened a business boycott. Kristi Noem initially over transgender athletics. Bush 43 9-11-21 speech. Romney. Asa Hutchinson. Trumpās spine is rare among Republicans. DeSantis acts like he has one too.
Politics may be a dirty business on the inside, but on the outside you *don't* insult the people who's votes you're trying to obtain.
Just pure stupidity on Cruz's part, and he still hasn't learned .... Tone Deaf
Said this yesterday and after watching the interview when honestly he did get some sympathy from Tucker, something is happening behind the scenes and it is not good. 11 other Senators potentially could be charged? Do we essentially have the threat of a political purge going on. It would make sense in fact, a lot of sense especially if the ‘democrats’ know the red wave is coming in the fall.
The people they are holding right now are small fish. They really do not care about them other than for whatever theatre they can use them for. They are being used as bait. Always, always remember who they are trying to stop, Trump. Consider for a moment the strategy they are using, so many times we Republicans fail to see their long-game until it is too late.
I said it yesterday and I will say it again, Ted Cruz doesn’t say things on accident. 11 other Senators stood with Cruz on Jan. 6th to question the vote. Imagine losing those 12 to this witch hunt and them falling under the Patriot Act. All of them, their families, their contacts, their aids all removed. Imagine how much power, the chilling effect, a threat against an opposition party like that holds at that level.
I do know if Ted Cruz has flipped, but he doesn’t mistakenly get sloppy with wording or phrasing.
From Yesterday:
Something happened behind the scenes we are not privy too.
Cruz knows words have meanings. Sitting here listening to the Clay & Buck show as well and the caterwauling about these people being detained so long without bail or trial dates.
Check the language they use regarding these people and the ones they plan to round-up.
Terrorist
It is really, really important to understand what they are signaling.
Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT Act (Pub. L. No. 107-52) expanded the definition of terrorism to cover āādomestic,āā as opposed to international, terrorism. A person engages in domestic terrorism if they do an act ādangerous to human lifeā that is a violation of the criminal laws of a state or the United States, if the act appears to be intended to: (i) intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping.
Now somewhere in the back of my mind...I seem to recall they can ādetainā these āterroristsā as long as they feel they need too. I am thinking that little nugget was in the NDAA a few years back and likely still there. We old FReepers made a fuss about it at the time.
Right now these people or the few that have been charged so far got slaps on their hands. Did Ted Cruz use terrorist and believe it or was he signaling how the next round of arresting charges were going to be prosecuted? Did he find himself on the receiving end of a threat of ādomestic terrorismā charges?
Ugh...I don’t know.
Cruz = Hindenburg
Oh the huge-manattee
(breaking into the Capitol, fighting with police, trespassing) Once they breached the building they can be considered terrorists. If it had been BLM, we would be demanding a similar investigation. What happened last year essentially gave them what they wanted (orchestrated) and the people who participated in it were incredibly stupid.
if the act appears to be intended to: Check
intimidate or coerce a civilian population; check
(ii) influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or check
(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping.the now infamous photo of the guy with the zip-tie handcuffs that were conveniently left just laying around at the time.
Days afterward we watched as fencing went up, National Guard called out and every single one questioned to examine for 'extremist' views.
Look, I do not care if you like or not what I have written here. But we are moving into a time where things are going to start happening that we do not understand. At times we will not be able to tell friend from foe.
I don’t doubt it Rhino. He is covering stuff NO ONE else does.
Apart from the election swindle where all the hosts were threatened with their jobs he is the gold standard IMO
Ted Cruz has consistently called attacks on police "terrorism". Saying he "flipped" is nuts. So its much to do about nothing.
"Ted Cruz convenes Senate hearing on Antifa āterror attacks"
https://nypost.com/2020/08/04/ted-cruz-convenes-senate-hearing-on-antifa-terror-attacks/
Ted reached out to appear on Tucker because he didn’t expect the backlash and needed a way to walk back his “terrorist” comment. Tucker was having none of Ted’s excuses, and had him groveling.
The Ray Epps part was gold. Ted will get to the bottom of the Ray Epps mystery when Lindsey Graham gets to the bottom of Obamagate.
This really bums me out. Ted Cruz just had his āMacacaā moment. Heās a major conservative player from Texas and that sound bite will haunt him and us forever
Asterisk mine.
I have never particularly liked Cruz (a little too self-righteous), but heās a smart man and in general heās pretty good. I love his tweets because can be devastatingly witty in his remarks about Dem lunacy.
But sometimes he seems to back down in the face of the Dems and itās as if he wants to prove to them that heās just another spineless GOPer after all.
I think itās very possible that he and other Senators and Reps who seemed to have been supporters of questioning the 2020 election but have come out with stupid statements about Jan. 6 recently are genuinely afraid that the Dems will try to accuse them of terrorism and prosecute them. I donāt think thereās any way that this would be Constitutional or go very far, but it would certainly be an unpleasant situation that would bog down everything else and impact the elections.
However, one thing he should know by now is that there is no reasonable approach in dealing with the Dems because theyāre not rational and in fact they donāt even pretend to be. They know that their insane claims about Jan 6 are hyperbole and are intended solely to inflame their base (the media). Appearing to agree with them was a big mistake, even if he simply meant it to show that he was being evenhanded. He had declared Antifa riots to be terrorism, and I guess he wanted to show that he considered any riots to be terrorism, more as an expression of non-partisanship than anything else.
Cruz can redeem himself, however: heās at least tried to call attention to the plight of the people arrested (and in some cases, held for months without charges) because of supposed connections to Jan 6, and he should pursue this. He should be demanding a genuine examination of the events of that day, and genuine accountability from Pelosi and the Capitol Police. Then maybe people would forget this stupid statement.
That was amazing. Cruz looked like he was trying hard not to cry.
