My Darling Clementine is a 1946 American Western film directed by John Ford and starring Henry Fonda as Wyatt Earp during the period leading up to the gunfight at the OK Corral. The ensemble cast also features Victor Mature, Linda Darnell, Walter Brennan, Tim Holt, Cathy Downs and Ward Bond.
The title of the movie is borrowed from the theme song "Oh My Darling, Clementine", sung in parts over the opening and closing credits.
My Darling Clementine is regarded by many film critics as one of the best Westerns ever made. In 1991, the film was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry; it was among the first 75 films entered into the registry.

Oh my Darling
I never saw this, thanks for the heads up.
Back in the old days late 80s one could see Victor Mature on the golf course in Rancho Santa Fe down in San Diego.
The golf course at Rancho Santa Fe was Bing Crosbys original Clam Bake before moving to Pebble Beach
Thanks for posting!
Mature was an avid golfer.
There was a story about him ... that when he tried to join one of the exclusive LA country clubs he was told 'sorry no actors as members.'
He replied 'I'm no actor. And I've done fifty movies that prove it.'
Reminds me of a quote by Jimmy Dean to the effect that no one had gotten as far as he did with his amount of talent.
“Oh my Darling”
Aunt Bee!
It’s a beautifully made film... definitely should be on your movie bucket list.
My dad called him Old Sleepy Eyes cause he looked as if he was falling asleep. The recently accused Chris Noth bears a resemblance to Mature.

Proud to say that even as a wiseguy young buck in the early ‘50s, when I first watched that movie I pegged it as a really great western, even better than High Noon! At the time I had never seen a western movie where some of the scenes took place in the pouring rain!
I took a movie appreciation class in college. We had a textbook called ‘100 Best Films of All Time.’ I disagreed with probably about fifty of the titles in that book. I strongly agreed with the inclusion of ‘My Darling Clementine.’ There were like four other John Ford films in there... ‘The Searchers’ and ‘The Quiet Man’ I remember were.
Times sure have changed. Now we have twerking on national TV on stage at the Oscars by women in thong bikinis
I’ve never seen the movie but watching the ending after the goodbye I thought, ‘This has to be a John Ford film’. Check IMBD and yep, it was.
