Stellantis said in July that it plans to spend more than $35.5 billion through 2025 to release an array of new plug-in models. Ford has said it would spend $30 billion on electric vehicles through 2025. GM has said it plans to spend $35 billion by the middle of the decade to introduce 30 plug-in models globally and has set a 2035 target date for phasing out gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles from its showrooms.
The F-150 Lightning is priced between $40,000 for a base model and the high $90,000s for the high-end models.

Yes. 110v will charge it enough overnight for local runabout use, further on occasion. Served me fine when I had an EV for two years.
If you’re spending that much on an EV, get a separate line installed for a 240v charger. That will fully charge it every night.

I have to admit that that sounds great if it’s a new vehicle, but people should take into account the loss of power storage as the battery get’s older.
I suppose we’ll have to see what the rate of shrinkage in battery storage capacity becomes. Then and only then will the value of an electric vehicle really show up.
I believe that electric vehicles for use in the northern tier of the United States is a really bad idea due to the extremes of our winter weather. Only time will tell if I’m right.
Am eagerly awaiting an electric truck. Put down placeholder deposit within hours of Cybertruck announcement. The torque, towing, & acceleration specs are amazing.
It’s starting to look like your only choice will be vintage used diesel or gas trucks. After this phase-out begins, gas and diesel fueling stations will begin rapidly disappearing. You’ll eventually have to go to your local marina or airport to get gasoline. They are really hell-bent on making this dystopia happen.
And NOT ONE of them addresses the fundamental problem: “Where will the electricity come from?”

I think it’s more that the government has put nose-rings on all of them and leads them wherever the government want them to go.
The absolute worst part of this is government is infested top-to-bottom with blithering idiots that are foisting this on us. It’s like the stupid program to turn corn into ethanol to keep the farmers happy. Nothing the government does passes any sort of engineering test.

I live on top of marcelles Utica gas formation- the largest gas formation- in the country.
Hundreds of billions of infrastructure is currently being built- gas lines, pumps etc.
In 2021 under Biden, 356 new well permits were approved in my county and two counties below me. In 4 years of Trump only 72 permits were issued in the 3 counties.
In my area a record amount of gas was pumped out in 2021 under Biden
No, I am not giving Biden credit but just saying the large corporations control this economy. The Democrat politicians tell their far left base they are going to shut down fossil fuels but wink wink to the gas companies
2 natural gas power plants are being but near me. Costings billions of dollars. These companies would not be building them if the govt was going to shut them down
Fossil fuels especially natural gas will be around for a long long time because it is cheap energy

Meanwhile, GM is recalling Chevy Bolt EVs (2017-2022) and Bolt EUVs (2022) to address the risk of battery fires in these vehicles.
Chevrolet still recommends Bolt owners not to park their cars inside their house garage; a fire could incinerate the garage AND the house in a worse case scenario.
Some Bolt owners have said their vehicles were banned from parking in public garages or parking structures.

That means you must buy the high price gasoline...
But it will all be priced very high!
