The Chrysler brand is ditching gas engines and going to an all-electric lineup. And Japan’s Sony Group Corp. plans to jump into the electric-vehicle fray, creating its own car unit.
Stellantis said in July that it plans to spend more than $35.5 billion through 2025 to release an array of new plug-in models. Ford has said it would spend $30 billion on electric vehicles through 2025. GM has said it plans to spend $35 billion by the middle of the decade to introduce 30 plug-in models globally and has set a 2035 target date for phasing out gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles from its showrooms.
The F-150 Lightning is priced between $40,000 for a base model and the high $90,000s for the high-end models.

Tesla sold 495,000 in 2020 and 900,000 in 2021 and could have sold 250,000 more but supply chain issues fubared it.
No one is forcing the American people to buy ev’s they want them.
The new Tesla production sedan goes 8.94 in the quarter mile. The fastest production cat ever made.
Right now, if you’re an Early Adopter EVs are fine. I just don’t think the infrastructure will be able to handle them completely taking over for ICE vehicles.
Methanol is a much poorer fuel than even ethanol, which is a poorer fuel than gasoline. Methanol is more toxic too.
Like ethanol, it can be made to work if petrol is expensive enough or unavailable.
Just like the United Mine Workers whose leadership is only concerned about how much they can milk out of the government in subsidies for their..... retirees. Not the lack of actual mining jobs to pay their members and members pay dues. No longer the game.
And Obamaumao and JoeBama both said the out of work miners would have to “learn to code”. What an insult, and what graft for politician blood suckers, who suck the very dignity of work out of a person, just as they have done by ignorant “lockdowns” to “stop” covid— and they haven’t stopped covid, nor will they ever.

Tinkle on someone else’s foot and tell them it’s raining. Take a good look at who is buying, and who will not buy again, vs. the amount of “woke” government buying, spending other people’s money. No doubt the investment community that sponges off of this “tech inside” track are wedded to the kind of blue sky bs being turned out.
Chrysler is moving into EV’s because Chrysler’s target consumers have always included gullible young buyers. If Chrysler abandons EV’s then Chrysler may as well get out of the business.
I think the idea is to keep people from owning their own cars. The Elites want them dependent on services (like Uber) that they can be “deplatformed” from if they don’t behave.

Nearly every state except for one or two produces more electicity than they use. For instance Washington state sells 25% of it’s electricity to Canada every year.
We actually use less elctrical power than we did 20 years ago-energy saving appliances, movement to low energy use LEds, people just conserving more and being energy conscience.
Ev charging station are being put in everywhere. Our local Sheetz, Pilot and Bell Stores all put them in this last years.
Sure. Thank Bob Dole for that “govt.” decision. Small engine repair centers have done so for the last 20 years— for all the destruction ethanol does to engines. Thank the Corn Lobby for forcing the importation of petroleum for petrochemically derived fertilizer to produce corn to produce ethanol (and calculate the net energy higher expense to “save the planet”, and more like “keep the CORN LOBBY midwest votes”.
Cellulose fiber distillates burn much cleaner than ethanol ever will. Methanol is many times more “oxygenated” than ethanol, and methanol burns much more like gasoline. Methanol is an excellent stand alone fuel, and we should be switching to it. Hydrogen is not dense enough to replace either ethanol mixes or methanol mixes.
As a chemist this makes complete perfect sense. But it would never have mollified the booze and corn lobby and the revenues they have produced for govt. for decades.
When the government is willing to pay 10-12k for every EV sold, it is natural that GM will start producing EV.s When it pays to go green, Exxon will go green. Not hard to see what is happening here.
