We actually have a Hawaian gentleman , with lineage back to the Kamegameha kings , who then himself should be qualified to be selected as Monarch in a Restored Hawaiian Kingdom.
Here, politically,he is a Republican .
I would support such a transition , with strong defense ties and continuing basing rights to the USA

the majority of collective populous here are far too politically stupid to ever vote themselves out of the Democrat Party plantation. Therefor we really have nothing to lose by returning to Kingdom status ( with strong US Commonwealth ties)
It is a religion. Of all places, HI, should promote things like exercise as it can be done outside almost all year. No risk of Coof from in a gym because it is 15° out.
From what I have read, Hawaii was made into a state because Alaska sent in a request to be a state. Alaska was known to be Republican and the Democrats were absolutely loath to let in another Republican state which would give the Republicans two more Senate seats.
It was proposed that Hawaii be admitted as a state to balance Alaska, and this allowed everyone to agree on the admission of Alaska.
Hawaii was just a compromise to preserve the power status quo, and not because anyone wanted it to be a state.
There is a reason why welfare income on a per person rate is highest in Hawaii. Last I heard (a few years back) single Mom’s with kids were getting north of 50k a year in welfare benefits. Nothing like a huge incentive not to get married and have more kids. Puts South Central L.A to shame.
I’m on the big island. Only lived here 20 years.
I won’t go the Monarchy route, but anyway to get rid of Democrats would really clean this place up!
