Ten years ago, baby-faced men were passed over in Hollywood for rugged looking stars with more traditionally masculine looks.
But today more feminine-looking actors with delicate features, shorter stature and symmetrical faces are more in demand because they appear to younger viewers, experts claim.
Gen Z audiences are drawn to celebrities like Tom Holland, Timothée Chalamet and Harry Styles who embody a 'brand of enlightened non-toxic masculinity', according to beauty expert Laura Kay.
Their symmetrical, heart-shaped faces also make them more photogenic and therefore more popular on Instagram, which has become a key part in the Hollywood marketing machine.
These non-traditional leading men also benefit because younger generations are more tolerant of things which would have seen as 'abnormal' in the past, such as height differences or attitudes to gender, says dating and relationship expert Alex Mellor-Brook.
Tom Holland, 25, who is dating his co-star Zendaya, also 25, for example, is 5ft 8in, shorter than one might expect for a Hollywood A-lister, while Harry Styles, 27, proudly steps out in feminine clothing and has released a range of nail polishes.

Humphrey Bogart was 5’8” but the directors he worked with made an effort to hide that. His wife Lauren Bacall appeared much taller than him in ‘To Have and Have Not’ but was actually only 5’9”... her slimness seemed to make her appear taller.
Hollywood doesn’t even believe this crap. Look at the starlet husbands.
Styles now has a weight lifters body, many tattoos, and a forty year old girlfriend who abandoned her family and husband.
Justin Bieber has also bulked out and gone with the maximum tattoo look.
The “Toot of Earl”. Sweet BEE Jee zus. What a “little richard”
flexi-duct.
Just sayin. And the “mag” is making a LOT of assumptions- they also left out the dyke heartthrobs of fashion.... are there any (not being a “dedicated follower of fashion”):

that is no man. Not a woman. Not trans. WTH is it? Gender neutral? We are doomed.
If I were the FreeRepublic benevolent dictator (LOL) I’d ZOT such articles with the reason “who in the hell cares”.
Around here we’ve had to see endless BTS. Since about 2014. I smile and nod. I do not get the appeal. At all. They’re nice and they are great dancers. They are feminine.
At least there Fred Astaire binge last week. That was a relief
But by the way, two separate family members. Sisters. Told me Yellowstone was the rage
My kids had warned me off a while ago. Too raunchy. Well I checked it out. Wasted hours first and last episodes just to see what people- women- are immersed in.
It was the worst show I had ever seen. Terrible acting. Ridiculous, unrealistic plot, terrible acting. But raunchy. Pornographic. It was depressing. Empty. Full of gaslighting about the way culture is supposed to head. Tge characters hate each other. No one tries for virtue.
We stayed at Pheasant Run resort outside of Chicago in 1974.
Burt Reynolds happened to be there and I can still remember the gasp of every woman as he walked by.
This was right after Deliverence and he was soaking wet with masculinity.
I doubt women would gasp today upon seeing Harry Styles.
I had the misfortune to buy that new Dune movie featuring Tim-o-tay Chalmet.....
Sheesh...what a brooding little effeminate wimp. All stick and no stones... pitiful....his acting consists of that “brooding soulful look of smoldering whatever” that is supposed to get panties wet.
The movie? A recreation with updated graphics all wrapped up in big bow of woke-puke we gotta find diversity actors. And to top it off the damned thing just STOPPED with no warning they were gonna go for a double money steal with the next installment....
And uh, Ray Davies penned this explanation from decades ago— the transgenders have figured out how to get on the gubmint gravy train— and faking sports people out (who ought to say— no—F NO! Men, genetic men may NOT compete in women’s sports— and at the same time the women’s sports should stop taking Title 9 money for their “subsidies” and fundraise on NORMALITY).
The theme song for the Lincoln Brigade (oh, sorry the Lincoln Project. Both of these being cross dressers for Communism):

Brilliant.

Any relation to Re Styles (female singer from The Tubes)?

“We stayed at Pheasant Run resort outside of Chicago in 1974.”
It’s closed now and undergoing demolition. They’re destroying it a piece at a time. We drive past it often. We used to stay there from time to time. They had an amazing Sunday Brunch.
Very sad.

“Hollywood” may indeed believe that they’re changing the world with it’s imagery and what-not of intended role models but it won’t catch on with Americans who know better than to feel the slightest bit of pressure to “move with the times”. Look at it, evaluate it, reject it...Reject it all to hell!
Sad to hear that. My dad had a business convention there. I was about 12 or so.
I’m thinking it was fairly new when we stayed there.
“Ten years ago, baby-faced men were passed over in Hollywood for rugged looking stars with more traditionally masculine looks.”
Correction: passed over in Hollywood for jacked-up, super-roid monsters.
Not sure why Spider-Man’s Tom Holland is being compared to Harry Styles.
Harry Styles WAS a “heartthrob” 10 years ago, I guess. One Direction was pretty free of any worthwhile musical attention, so it must’ve been that the girls found them cute. I double-checked if I had missed anything since Dunkirk; the biggest role he’s had was a “mid-credits cameo” in The Eternals. Five years with no roles. He’s got a low-budget thriller coming out later this year.
Teeny boppers and woke idiots only. Take a look at the ratings of Yellowstone and the “appreciation” of Rip. Real women prefer men that look like men.
