A patina of academic respectability can't hide the fear porn.
With the anniversary of last year’s January 6 Capitol incursion this week, the agitprop media is doing its best to instill fear of a bogeyman caricature of conservatives. Yesterday’s edition of Face the Nation added a patina of academic respectability in an interview with Professor Robert Pape of the University of Chicago, who has studied “insurgencies in war zones” and applies that model to the January 6 events of last year, which were, as the media likes to say about far more violent riots, “mostly peaceful.” You would never know from the professor’s words that the only deaths were at the hands of police, not the “insurrectionists” and that most of those who entered the Capitol were beckoned in by police.
The good professor seems to really, really want to find danger in mainstream conservatism, and egged on by host Margaret Brennan, made some points that struck me as odd. For instance:
…We find that only 21 million people believe two radical beliefs in America today. One, that Joe Biden is an illegitimate president, and, two, that the use of force to restore Donald Trump to the presidency is justified. And their media sources of those 21 million, they come from -- 42 percent of the 21 million, their main media source is Fox News, Newsmax, and One America.

They don’t need to do that. The Left is taking over with little to no resistance from the sheeple or the so-called opposition party. Its been a walk in the park for them.
They correctly figured out that the success and comfort we enjoy as a nation makes us weak, lazy, gullible and susceptible to intimidation. They took full advantage of it.
The Left has easily made the progress toward Marxism that it long planned and pushed for. They systematically took over every institution in our society. All that’s left is the suppression and criminalization of dissident voices and views.

Correct, 1/6 is a nothing burger but makes Margaret Brennan wet her pants. Covid is being used for control as you say, with mail out ballots as the goal. I think that’s a dated notion. It may have been true at one time of day but nowadays the Left is more sophisticated. It knows that violence doesn’t sell in modern society. They deftly employ intimidation tactics, disinformation, agitprop, and other such means to influence people and trash their opponents. And since they own the media and most influencers in society (and they have no effective political opposition from the other party) they control the message. Its become an effective weapon for them. No need for violence anymore really.
They spent most of Trumps Presidency ignoring the violent Left, and now they twist themselves in knots because the Right is gearing up to fight back?

I feel the same way. I’m sick and tired of the GOP’s BS. They so used to playing their base they think the old playbook still works. I think people are catching on to their deception and dissembling.

While the far left fascist bastards were pulling of their own insurrection, they were blaming the Republicans of trying to pull off an “insurrection” on January 6th.
