I am guessing curry powder (main ingredient is turmeric) must be helpful to subdue viruses, because India with more than 4 times bigger population crammed into a landmass 1/3rd size of USA had less deaths from covid than USA.
I use vicks vaporub generic substitute after coming home from exposure to strangers in stores and restaurants.
It was suggested as a substitute for Ivermectin in a posting yesterday. Yes, it is black cumin seed powder. I think the posting was a suggestion from Frontline Doctors.
Powder or oil , they do have a video on their website how to use it
Lol, I have watched the commercial for those. My first thought was that it would be close to feeling like being water boarded. But I guess it would definitely clean you out. And you could probably add whatever you like.
Used Alkalol since an ENT recommended the spray. Used to have numerous sinus infections

Been studying up on black seed and honey today. The consensus is that it is best taken mixed with warm water. And the black seed can be ground for easy assimilation. It can also be fermented and taken with turmeric.
So the recipe called for warm water mixed with honey and ground black seed added, then drink.
I’m big into fermentation so I started an experiment which won’t be ready for a few days but I’m not sick so this is just for my medicine chest.
I ground 2 T of black seed and put it in a jar. I mixed in some whey from my unsweetened yogurt, then I added a T of sugar and a T of organic honey and some water. I covered loosely and put n the back of my ink where I emember to tend it. I will add a bit more honey every day for a week. When it bubbles up I will refrigerate for future use. The sugar is to speed up the process. Yea

And they have some cheap saline nasal spray...these bottles might be refillable with a DIY 1% povidone iodine solution...

You could probably find a nasal spray bottle or small bottle of saline nasal spray at a dollar store.
Don’t use the betadine solution full strength, dilute it to 1%
i.e. 1oz of 10% betadine solution into 9oz water
or 1ml added to 9ml of water...etc
If the nasal spray bottles you have do not have a removable cap just make up some solution, squeeze the empty bottle and then hold it in the solution and release...the solution will suck up into the bottle.
The video below suggests a 10 to 1 mixture and that is fine but a 9 to 1 solution will be exactly accurate...but the video is close enough. I don’t think you need to throw out the solution after a day or so like the video suggests... I don’t see how a betadine solution could go bad that fast...lol that would be a very short shelf life, you would have to be at the betadine factory to use some on the spot...ha

I coat the inside of my nostrils with Neosporin (antibiotic ointment (zinc and antibiotic). Good protection and cheap.
Smart idea...and it does not burn, right?
May be I should coat the mask with it as well.
What should I avoid while using Neosporin?
Do not take by mouth. Neosporin is for use only on your skin. Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If this does happen, rinse with water.

Thx!
Hmmm.. I use Neosporin for every cut, scratch, blister, everything like that. Do you use it daily in your nostrils or just before you will be around a crowd?
Neosporin is for bacterial infections. What makes you think it will control a virus? Maybe the ointment base may create a barrier, but so would Vaseline.
Be careful with zinc directly applied inside the nose. Some years ago my son and I both lost part of our sense of smell when we used Zicam swabs in the nose. They helped fight viruses but were found to damage the olfactory system. The swabs were withdrawn from the market, but for many people, the damage was done. I continue to take zinc, but in the form of pills or lozenges.
Ping to Iodine Nasal Mist thread...
We’ve been making/using this, for months.
Yet another layer of protection against viruses.
Thanks for posting.
Our ENT recommended putting neosporin in noses that were susceptible to dry and/or bloody noses, decades ago.
So far, so good….for all ;-)
