What do China, Cuba, and Russia have in common? They sit on the U.N. Human Rights Council and violate human rights. It is a travesty, as Virginia Kruta counts the Top 10:
10: Pakistan
9: Mauritania
8: Qatar
7: Somalia
6: Russia
5: Libya
4: Cuba
3: Eritrea
2: Venezuela
1: China
As Hillel Neuer points out, Cuba's credentials are just what you are looking for for a seat in a human rights group:
a 60-year totalitarian regime; bans free speech, association; blocks vital food & medical aid; infiltrates & subverts entire hemisphere; drug trafficking; sends doctors abroad as slave labor.
And then there is China, that beacon of democracy and human rights. And Venezuela, another charmer when it comes to respecting its citizens. And let's not forget some of the others on the list.
Sorry, but it's hard to take the U.N. seriously when you see something like this, especially the way women are treated in some of these countries. Of course, apologists point out that countries are "rotated" so they can experience the U.N. way of discussion and debate.

The tyrant’s club.
They’re communist bast*r*s!
#1 of at least 100.
Don’t discount their “peace keepers” going to third world countries involved in sex scandals and underage prostitution.
If you want to understand what a perpetually leftist America would be like, study the UN.
Simple solution, one that I think President Trump would have been more than willing to do:
Kick the UN out of the the NYC and the US. Have the US withdraw from any positions like the security council or anything else and let the UN know that the US military will nor any of its logistical assets will be used for anything other than a support role. And it will only allow an equal number of personnel and equipment as any other country involved.
No more 82nd Airborne responding to any trouble spots to keep the peace. No more hospital ship Mercy or Comfort, steaming somewhere in the world to give free aid to anyone. US involvement will be very limited.
Lets see how that works out for those tyrants.
Long ago, I spent a day at the UN with a friend who worked there. She showed me all around the place, took me to lunch in the delegates’ dining room, the works. I walked in the door feeling privileged and walked out wanting them out of the USA.
My tipping points were delegates from some crummy African country I’d just read about in Tony Horwitz’s book “Baghdad Without a Map” walking around in $5,000 suits wearing $30,000 watches. Horowitz had describe that country’s capital as “the streets of the capitol city were literally paved in manure.”
On the take much?
The building is beautiful though with a great location on the river Trump could buy it, remodel it into pricey condos and we’d all be happy.
I don’t know why conservative journalists and bloggers bother writing about this bunch. They have no power, no influence and decide nothing. They sit around in their suits and ties, scribbling with their Montblanc fountain pens, they talk, they bluster, blow off steam, issue reports nobody reads, feel important walking the halls in their shiny diplomat shoes, and live high off the bog on their expense accounts — but that’s it. Why give these nobodies any ink (or pixels, as the case may be)?
What power there is is all vested in the UNSC Perm Five. Back in the 90s we had the cat bird seat, and “the UN was the favorite tool of the US”. Not so much anymore, thanks to the Clintons, Obama and now whoever is the power hiding behind Biden. There may come a day when China gets that catbird seat if we don’t watch out. And it appears we’re not watching out.
Human rights violations? Every one does it to some degree. Ask a Jan. 6 protestor held in solitary.
The evil cabal assembled right here in USA the land of, supposed— liberty
It’s disgraceful. And downright sickening. Let’s kick the UnitedNazis out now!
How do you account for the fact that the United Nations Charter follows the format of the Russian (USSR) Constitution of 1936 rather than the format of the (Covenant of the) League of Nations? Would you feel there was any significance in the fact that the general secretary for the organization which drew up the charter was Alger Hiss? …Actually, this is the number one reason.
— The Naked Communist, Chapter 8
Absolutely. Where else can any of them live under the greatest security blanket on the planet?
Their people are eating dirt and dying from malaria and they’re in NYC restaurants or attending dinner parties on the upper East Side.
World Economic Forum officially has no power either. Though they’re the leaders of the cabal
These clowns don’t even have any unofficial power.
They rape children.
Kind of hard to pick a #1. Mine would probably be China still holding a permanent seat on the security council while actively conducting genocide, but you got to start somewhere.
