Dec 30 (Reuters) - Coronavirus deaths in Eastern Europe topped 1 million on Thursday, according to a Reuters tally, as the Omicron variant threatened to batter the region.
Three out of the five countries reporting the highest number of daily deaths in Europe are from the East, including Russia, Poland and Ukraine, Reuters data through Thursday showed....
...The region includes Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine...
...Relatively few cases of Omicron have been detected in Eastern Europe...

Over in western Europe, Omi is dominant now and "Britain, Cyprus, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Malta all set new national records for positive daily Covid-19 tests this week." according to the Irish Times, which refers to the exponential growth as 'dizzying'
Stop with the fear porn already. Do you scour the internet looking for this crap or what?
Wow. Cherry picking data to create fear. That is what this is.
Most of the world is between 1000 and 3000 deaths per million despite the differences in reporting.
The outliers should be ignored.
1000 to 3000 per million has been the norm since this started.
Nothing significant has changed.
One could also conclude that Eastern Europe has more deaths thanks to socialized medicine that has been in place for 70 years, meaning the population is less healthy than others.
But everyone wants to ignore such stories in favor of FEAR, FEAR, FEAR!!!
Until a pandemic hits that reduces the world’s population, it is not a real pandemic.
the bigger question is, why do you call it ‘fear porn’? Does the fact that a pandemic really does exist scare you? It doesn’t bother me any more than the news of a cow in the road in Texas.
The world’s population has been reduced by 5 million and counting, 3 million in Europe and one in the US (almost). Not enough death for you yet to satisfy your arbitrary definition of ‘pandemic’?
rate of vaccinations:
Ukraine 15%; Belarus 21% (?); Bulgaria 27%; Mondolva 35%; Russia 35%; Slovakia 36.5%; Romania 40%; Poland 55%; Czech 61%; Hungary 60%
median age 40 except Slovakia at 35
I’m going to guess that most cases are in the first 6.
If a country has a low quality of medical care, all the more reason to protect oneself, right? A country can possess the most equipped hospitals in the world, like the US for instance, but if people don’t do anything to protect themselves, the greatest hospitals and the best staff aren’t going matter a twit. Viruses gonna virus and virus love unprotected victims in pandemic denial. Easy pickins.
Why does that scare you into using caps? Europe’s numbers don’t affect you personally do they?
What utterly worthless garbage these numbers are. Stop posting this crap.
Seems so, doesn't it? Posted info to another thread just days old. Reposting here....

No. The world's population has increased despite Covid.
Actually, I have relatives and friends in Hungary. I own a second home in Hungary. I think we know more about reality that your love of Reuters honesty.
50 years of socialized medicine has created populations that are filled with comorbidities.
The majority of vaccines available in the East have been Sputnik and Sinopharm (Russian and Chinese) which have been shown to be the least effective.
So, instead of swallowing Reuters fear ejaculate, try learning about the real reasons why things happen.
Without additional detail, this article looks like mainstream media gaslighting.
