Question: Would I be a bad Freeper for visiting the Jimmy Carter National Park (Plains, GA)?

Posted on 12/30/2021 7:13:54 PM PST by millenial4freedom

I will be visiting my close friend, who lives in Central GA,
at the end of January or early February.

We're considering a trip down to Plains, GA from where he is (roughly 1 hour away).
I wasn't alive during Carter's presidency, but my understanding is that he
wrecked the economy, fueled hyperinflation, helped expedite the decline of American Public Education via the creation of the unconstitutional DOE,
and was a massive anti-Semite.

In other words, he was a raving leftist who did more harm than good to this nation.
However, I will give Carter some credit. I admire his ascension to the presidency in lieu of his humble beginnings.
I'll always respect the work ethic of a peanut farmer over the work ethic of a diversity consultant or a 'legislative aide' to another entrenched swamp-deller.
He also seems to hold his Christian faith dearly.

Nonetheless, I feel a bit guilty travelling to Plains and visiting sites that pay tribute to someone who did irrevocable damage to America.
I will admit that I'm intrigued by the peanut 'culture' of the community and would like to learn more about the history of Plains. Plus, the Carter/Peanut statue looks really funny and would make a good photo-op.

Would you feel funny going or do you think I'm being too snowflakey here?

No. Not at all. This is a part of our country’s history.

My wife, son and I went to Plains, GA in 2000. We went to his church to hear him teach Sunday School. We had to get there VERY early just to get in the door. Afterwards he and Rosalyn posed with each family to have their pictures taken. They were very gracious.

No. Go.

Carter was a bad president but he did love America.

Don’t visit BO’s library.

Go with clear conscience. He is a part of our history
and (more importantly) a part we should want to remember in
order that it never have an opportunity to happen again.

Go ... enjoy!

If anyone questions you, tell them your there to drink beer or two in honor of the late Billy Carter -— of the 2 brothers, the one who had a sense of humor.

History is history, we don’t tear down statues and hide history even when don’t agree with it.

I’m sure there’s lots to learn and maybe even something to admire.

Have a good time and don’t be too loud when you roll your eyes and let out a pshaw! hahahaha 😜

I'd tell you to visit Andersonville National Historic Site, the site of the Civil War POW camp. It's not far from Plains, but they are enforcing the wearing of masks at the park, so its still a prison.

It’s usually liberals who are afraid to see or hear things they might disagree with... They’re afraid of our ideas... we’ve been exposed to their ideas our entire lives.

Conservatives live in a world dominated by liberal media, liberal Hollywood movies and TV shows, Newspapers, and most of the teachers and professors who taught us... We’re surrounded by liberal messages all the time.

If you visit Plains, GA you won’t be exposed to any ideas you haven’t been exposed to hundreds or thousands of times growing up. Back then ‘Peak Oil’ was the ‘Climate Change’ lie of the decade...

“It damages anyone with a normal marriage.”

Even worse, it damages children. The children these freaks adopt are damaged forever, and kids they come in contact with — nieces, nephews, students.

How Carter can say gay marriage is OK is ridiculous. He taught Sunday School in a (probably) evangelical church, for Pete’s sake; he knows what the Bible says on this subject.

You will be very close to the American Camellia Society near Fort Valley (aka Massee Lane Gardens), an absolutely fabulous 150-acre farm and garden with over 1000 varieties of Camellias. They also have a huge collection of beautiful Boehm porcelain sculptures of birds and flowers.

I would skip Andersonville Prison, it’s depressing.

If you’re a veteran, AD, or retired, national parks entrance fees are waived.

I live near Johnson City Texas, and have visited the president Johnson Ranch several times. (The latest was 3 days ago.) Places like this are an important part of history and are worth learning about.

That said, it was always difficult to hear the rangers and volunteers gushing about Johnson. It’s easy to ignore them, though. So go, enjoy, and learn.

Well it may bore you to death but Jimmah was one of the few who did not receive an envelope at Bush Sr’s funeral so he may have been incompetent but not cabal.

You are an American citizen?
Then do what you want...
Nobody’s business but yours...

Personally, if I went, I’d end up being arrested for urinating on any marker referencing Carter...
