Scientist surprised by discovery of '99%' effective, cheap COVID treatment
WND ^ | 12/30/2021 | Art Moore

The scientist who combined two widely available over-the-counter compounds that inhibited the novel coronavirus by 99% in early tests told WND he's hopeful his treatment will be available "within months."

"An FDA-approved treatment could be in sight within months if pharmaceutical companies utilize existing clinical trial resources," said Dr. David Ostrov in an email interview with WND.

Ostrov, an immunologist and associate professor in the University of Florida College of Medicine’s department of pathology, immunology and laboratory medicine, combined diphenhydramine, which is marketed as Benadryl, and lactoferrin, a protein in milk, as WND reported in December.

"My prediction is that antiviral drug combinations, such as diphenhydramine and lactoferrin, will provide a similar level of benefit as Regeneron monoclonal antibodies, Pfizer and Merck antivirals, at less than 1/100 the cost of those therapies," he told WND.

Ostrov said he knew he was facing an uphill battle in his effort to find a combination of cheap, safe and available drugs to combat COVID-19…

That sounds a lot like my iMASK+ prophylactic regimen. 500mg of Quercetin, 10,000 iu Vitamin D3, 1000mg of Vitamin C, 50 mg zinc and Ivermectin once a month. Supposed to take Melatonin too but it gives me weird headaches.

I took the lactoferrin for about a month and felt like it was drying my sinuses out too much. I live in a dry climate so they are dry enough already. Figure I’ll take it if I do contract the WuFlu.

Hope you stay well now and have no further problems.

I wonder if you could just drink milk for the lactoferrin part?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in April, I read this very interesting article in the Jerusalem Post... https://www.jpost.com/health-science/could-a-cup-of-yogurt-cure-your-case-of-covid-19-664976 Since then, I’ve been using kefir on my cereal for most mornings. I didn’t have the WuFlu before this point and I haven’t had it since... I suspect that the kefir is providing a similar benefit to the lactoferrin capsules. Incidentally, I bought both a bottle of benadryl and a large bottle of lactoferrin when the medical paper was first published months ago.....I won’t use them until I have a hint of a problem and then will have it ready to go.
Can a cup of yogurt ‘cure’ your case of COVID-19?
Researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev say they have identified molecules in kefir that are effective at treating various inflammatory conditions, including “cytokine storms” caused by COVID-19.
Kefir, which is similar to yogurt but thinner in consistency, is a fermented drink made by inoculating cow’s or goat’s milk with microorganism mixtures, such as yeast and bacteria. A cytokine storm is when the body’s immune system goes into overdrive and attacks itself – one of the leading causes of death in COVID-19 patients.
Zelenko is a nutcase and that’s why his “treatment” gets ignored. But this Israeli discovery could be real.
Back to diphenhydramine.
It causes dementia apparently through anticholinergic mechanism. Don’t take it.
I posted a link to that study back in spring 2020 and it got zero interest around here. When Trump mentioned HCQ later it must have come from that same study.
That 2005 experiment was done on Green Monkey tissue in a laboratory. It worked in the lab. But the SARS-1 virus had come and gone and there was no chance to try it out on infected people.
When Covid arrived there was plenty of opportunity to try it in vivo. They gave HCQ to nursing staffs as a prophylactic to see if it would protect them from becoming infected. They came down with covid at the same rate as nurses not taking HCQ. What works in vitro doesn’t necessarily work in live people.
Zinc requires an ionophore to take it across cell walls. HCQ does that, but so does quercetin which can be found at vitamin stores.
What is the reason that Nigerians are using HCQ and Ivermectin? Specifically as a covid prophylactic? Is this daily?
A few days might be okay.
But I’m convinces quercetin + zinc, as well as vitamin D, is curative.
