Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene renewed calls for a “national divorce” between red and blue states, arguing that Americans who move to conservative states from California and New York should have a “cooling off” period before being allowed to vote.
...“All possible in a National Divorce scenario,” Greene wrote. “After Democrat voters and big donors ruin a state like California, you would think it wise to stop them from doing it to another great state like Florida. Brainwashed people that move from CA and NY really need a cooling off period.”

When we get to Texas from California, we’ll be voting conservative, Thankyouverymuch.
“Only good thing in 78 was Pablo Cruise.”
In 1978, I fell in mad-lust young-love with a beautiful Alligator farmer in South Carolina.
It was a very good year.
I have heard it said that once mail-in-voting is introduced, conservatives never win again.
The Rules for Radical’s guy once said that if you’re not voting more than once, you’re not trying. So we know that voting multiple times is absolutely their MO. That book is the left’s bible (guess who it’s dedicated to).
I’m not convinced these states are as blue as we think they are. I propose that if we got our voting under control, the country would be stunned at what happens the next election cycle.
I also think voter fraud should be a capital crime. It’s one of the most consequential rights we have. Consider where we’re at now. Some fraud happened and people are losing their careers and possibly their lives. We could be thrown into a world war, losing our kids. The admin is making decisions wildly without regard for anything it seems. We could lose world currency reserve status. We could be eating zoo animals, like in Venezuela in a couple years. All for some illegitimate votes. Not saying it will happen, but it could.
Indeed. The ‘divorce’ has to happen at levels at-or-below the state level. The Democrats who run these rat infested urban enclaves have to be forced out of power - by fiscal, legislative or other punitive action. THEN it may be possible to talk about a divorce of states with the Federal government.
Lol. I’ve heard lefties saying they want a divorce too. That’s great. The new Red USA will be made up of States with excellent fiscal conditions. And the Blue USA will start out in bankruptcy. Perfect.
Nice fantasy, but not allowable. Keep your mouth shut. Would have to happen both ways if at all.
At least secession would be a more viable option.

Exactly. That’s why talk of splitting the country is a pipedream. Best we can push for is greater federalism.
A good illustration of “A little leaven leaven’s the whole lump”!
It would actually be very easy to starve big government and the American Left and immediately kill all progressive social-engineering schemes. There is NO need to conceded a single thing to the Left.
Eliminate the Federal Reserve
Then the entire country could return to original constitutional principles.
It will be painful, but just like the collapse of the Soviet Union, there’s no easy way to come back from bloated, corrupt, centralized socialist rule.
I was more of a Little River Band guy, myself.
Ping to post # 22.
Blue Centre County shows the stupifying effect of “higher education”.
LRB had some good songs as well.
They want sanity, or at some of them do. Others are missionaries of madness, and they ought to be escorted across the state line by concerned citizens. No tar. No feathers. No rail. Just ‘y’all don’t come back now. y’hear.’ and ‘goodbye’.

Maybe 1985 or so for me.
I could dig it!
Nah. Lots of good in ‘78. Just not politics. Good music, good dancing, good TV, good toys, good lack of regulation….no seatbelts and helmets, so much fun.
I have an uncle out there who is probably stuck because of his wacko wife.
