Electrified vehicles are very expensive and there is no sign that the prices will come down with mass production. Electric rates are increasing as well, erasing most potential cost savings.
The UK is considering eliminating private ownership of vehicles. This will happen here by either gov’t dictates or simply pricing vehicles out of the reach of ordinary citizens.
In the future, your vehicles will be via subscription.
Initially, you will have a vehicle and pay per mile or a fixed rate per month.
This will lead straight into autonomous vehicles where you do not have the vehicle at your residence. You will request a vehicle for X number of people or to haul X pounds of product and it arrives to collect you and take you to your destination.
The vehicles will be interconnected and centralized, so, much like your mobile phone, you will be tracked at all times. We know they will retain this information for marketing purposes, but it will be used by gov’t to surveil its subjects.
