Back in late 80s my dad brought barbecue from a place called Speedo’s somewhere in way off NC.
That was some of the best.

Never had Carolina style BBQ. I’ve heard good things though.
My experiences have been mostly KC and Texas.

A lot of people break it up, but it was really disappointing. In fact, it was pathetic. The corn bread was overdone. The chicken was overdone and dry. The potatoes were overdone and almost flavorless. Though coleslaw was half decent. The pork was mediocre at best.
I’m eating a lot of barbecue in a lot of different places. That was one of the biggest let downs I’ve ever experienced. I looked around, and everyone’s plate look just as unappetizing as mine.
