The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Tuesday significantly revised downward the estimate of the percentage of new COVID-19 infections in the U.S. caused by the omicron variant of the virus.
According to agency data, omicron accounted for about 59 percent of all U.S. infections as of Dec. 25. Previously, the CDC said the omicron variant comprised 73 percent of all cases for the week ending Dec. 18. But that number has now been revised to 22.5 percent of all cases....
If omi is no more than 22% then somebody's got some 'splainin' to do about why monoclonals have been withdrawn from public acccess under the premise that most infections are now Omi and monoclonals don't work against Omi.
I can’t think of a more meaningless statistic.
But that can never be allowed to happen, as then the pandemic would be over.
This becomes a fascinating problem about science — political science.
After two years to flatten that “curve” with erosion of trust in government and media facing ever closer examination and exposure, the large question is ‘how to get off the stage’ in some graceful or face-saving manner.
Like it or not, the anomalies in this ‘pandemic’ have become almost unmanageable from the point of “narrative.”

With the release of the Kennedy book, documented heavily, and with revisits to the WHO's manipulation of definitions and data, and with the definition of such basic words as vaccine to embrace mRNA technology, and with the look back to the Gates foundation involvement in JHU’s and IMHE’s “messaging” and inconsistent data, the question becomes simple. And difficult.
How to manage “down” the media hysteria and end the ‘pandemic’ with its tsunamis and surges and all. Revisions such as the cited “50 point spread” begin to glare out from behind the curtain.
Statistical facts like “global deaths” being a tiny 0.0684 % of the world's population according to “official” data make weak the continuance of hysterical reporting.
So, what to do? Construct some sort of “build down” for the fires built and stoked and heated to white-hot rhetoric. And then ‘poof’ it's over? Legal suits around the world will not be over. ADEs will accumulate even as bureaucracies sell that the injured aren't injured and no legal address will be coming.
This becomes a political science problem. How to get off the stage. Literary theory suggests only a few successful scenarios. But behind some “curtain,” some wizard-like lever-puller must be found. Which actors in this drama will be cast in those kinds of roles. Wag which dog? Someone's hand has been well and truly over-played. End game time. Call the script doctor.
Just two years ago we laughed at germaphobes behind their backs - or at least felt sorry for them - weirdos who were afraid to touch anything or shake hands.
Now almost everybody is acting like a weirdo germaphobe.
What happened? Any chance some people figured out how to make a zillion dollars by turning the population into germaphobes and hypochondriacs?

The sick thing is the masks promoted the spread of germs. warm moist cloth kept on face for hours at a time perfect for keeping vires alive long enough to inhale or have someone adjust the mask making it easier to catch through finger mouth nose contact.

I'd quote anyone if the quote led to some clarity and truth. I have quoted Mao and Lenin too. Nothing is off limits to free inquiry, as I see it.
A favorite to quote is the early Goebbels, proving the early Nazis were “anti-capitalist,” a tidbit often missed in discussions about whatever National Socialism is when defined by an international socialist, Soviet Socialist or Chinese Communist. Or Harvard professor.
Another favorite to quote is Fauci, as we all enjoy his nostalgic “two weeks to flatten the curve.”
Citing Kennedy is just citing Kennedy. But your citing the Smith article and using the lingo “anti-vaxx juggernaut” suggests that, in opposing one Juggernaut, you might well be supporting the Hegelian antithesis.
Could one characterize you as supporting a pro-vaxx juggernaut?
Do you see free inquiry as a problem?
Words are such interesting tidbits of testimony. Especially when words make attempt to quash free inquiry.
Free Republic is a phrase which begins with the word “free.” How is this a problem for you? Why is this a problem for you?

They’ve been saying the “Vaccines” don’t work against Omi either. Don’t they also need to explain the growing Vaccine Failure?
If somewhat less of the rise in cases was Omicron, then likely some more was Delta.
Delta might be completing its natural wave, with Omicron running concurrently, rather than one displacing the other. In addition to,, rather than instead of.
My twin daughters almost died of RSV when they were babies 25 years ago.
One of them got a brain injury and the other had/has terrible asthma.
People thought I was over-reacting when I didn’t want them exposed to colds or flu. Parents would send their sick kids to school or church, and then my kids would get really sick.
I would have friends come over to our house with their kids. I would notice the snotty and our friends would say it was no big deal, it’s just a cold.
Before they exposed my kid, couldn’t they have asked me. They didn’t care that my daughter would have to have nebulizer treatments every few hours for 3 weeks for every simple cold.
Now, those same people are freaked out about Covid. I have little sympathy for them.
At least, my daughter with asthma hasn’t been sick much since Covid. She’s hoping after Covid, people will work at home when they are sick and wear masks when they are sick.

I don't care what he has to say about Fauci, that's Fauci’s problem. But being against an extremist on the far-left side and expressing surprise he is quoted on a Conservative Republican forum, doesn't equate to supporting complete restraint in general .
Like any republican conservative, I have no issues with vaccines in general and for adults in particular. And I don't believe in pandemic pimps' scary stories. With 9 billion dispensed worldwide to date, 16% of America with “confirmed” infections to date and 1 in 400 Americans dead from covid by Christmas 2021, there's no doubt whatsoever covid is a real threat and that vaccines have saved lives - proof being that almost all post-elderly vaccine Alpha and Delta wave patients were unvaccinated and younger. And even with Omi, the vaccinated still have some degree of protection, anything being better than zero odds, and so are less likely to spread the disease than the unvaccinated. They are also having a milder go at it, with the majority of those few dying of Omi so far being unvaccinated. For those that don't vaccinate, common sense prevails - stay away from other unvaccinated, hide behind the vaccinated, and hope for the hospital resources are not already rationed when you need them.
There's nothing philosophical about a common sense approach to disease control based on facts on the ground. Otoh, Jrs' solution is to buy his book so he can 'stick it to amazon' which doesn't sound like a man concerned with health so much as dollar signs

what vaccine failure?
the vaccine works spectacularly against the Alpha variant it was tested and designed for. It worked almost as good against Delta. The drop in severity of symptoms, systemic damage, hospitalization and mortality rates of vaccinated seniors versus other age groups tell that story well. As do comparisons of age for age.
Omi has 30 plus mutations making its spike unique from the Alpha or Delta spike. Add in its shape-shifting tendency and even those immune systems previously infected with Alpha or Delta may have a hard time ‘recognizing’ the intruder, while Omi replicates at a high rate undetected. Omi is a mutational start at escaping ‘natural immunity’ so it’s not surprising those same escape mechanisms can affect ‘acquired immunity’.
But Omi only escapes the symptoms phase in vaccinated. The vaccines are still performing their primary purpose: keeping people out of the hospital and out of the morgue, and, as usual, it’s the unvaccinated that comprise most of the reported Omi-related deaths so far.
Any vaccine that keeps people from dying hasn’t failed at all. And Omi hasn’t defeated the vaccine by a long shot.
