But people desperately want to believe. Wearing a mask does nothing except make the wearer feel like they are doing something, and that’s all that matters, feeling good about yourself.

Thanks for the post. The county next to ours just instituted a new mandate by their communist county executive.
My county is a lot more reddish. I just sent the article to our Executive telling him to follow the science and not the fear. People are smart enough to make their own decisions.

Masks *can* stop ballistic particle spread. But they have to be donned and doffed properly and very few people do that.
