You’d have to wear a hazmat suit with an independent air tank to be 100% sure of not getting the virus. And then You’d have to decontaminate between suit ups. Really? Let’s get back to normal. If you’re sick, STAY HOME!

Yup. Got a tour of a bio-lab many years back. Protection from viruses, the very smallest semi-living organisms on the planet, requires extensive protective gear, decon procedures, and controlled airflow. The idea perpetuated by many that a paper mask provides any protection against an airborne virus is ludicrous.

The most benign reason I can come up with why the government pushed masks as they felt they had to do “something”, even if they knew it didn’t work. The government didn’t want to appear to be powerless. So masks became a sort of adult blankie.
