Trump to Biden: Plexiglass is not the answer
The Hill ^ | October 22, 2020 - 09:53 PM EDT | JUSTINE COLEMAN

President Trump in Thursday's debate responded to Democratic nominee Joe Biden's call for plexiglass at restaurants amid the coronavirus pandemic by saying plexiglass is "not the answer."

During a portion of the debate focused on the pandemic, Biden said restaurants will need to have plexiglass dividers, among other resources, "so people cannot infect one another."

The president countered, "When you talk about plexiglass, these are restaurants that are dying."

"These are businesses with no money," Trump said. "Putting a plexiglass is unbelievably expensive and it's not the answer. I mean, are you gonna sit there in a cubicle wrapped around with plastic?"

Problem solved.

“Meanwhile, Scott, McCoy, and Sulu trade the formula of transparent aluminium for the materials needed for the whale tank.”

Transparent aluminium!

That’s funny, I think the mayor of Chicago (or was it Philadelphia) has been trying to force take-out joints to remove see-through glass barriers that they have had up for decades for safety reasons.

I guess they will be okay if they change the name from “bullet-proof” to “COVID-SAFE”.

Why post 14 month old story?

Maybe to show the contrast in Trump then and Trump now.

Passion vs. Milquetoast

Now all he can muster is that vaccines are good and he’s against mandates. At least before he seemed to care about our freedom.

The masks need to come off, let’s get back to normal life and let everyone catch Omicron and get this over with. (Not that masks do a damned thing, just an analogy.)

Freedom. Let’s try that approach for once.

It made/makes scared Karen’s feel safe. I was just at the Apple store, no plexi, still face to face sales with a employee. However they do have security guards out front handing you face diapers with the worthless blue surgical masks.

Nope. I'll just pick up some meat at the butcher shop and cook it at home myself.

He already knows he’s on shaky ground because his mandates aren’t directed specifically at the people he wants vaxxed. He is ordering (via threat of harassment, DOJ action, agency interference, funds withholding, etc.) intermediate entities who have some measure of control over them to implement that which he obviously (IMO) doesn’t have the power to do directly. That’s pretty much classical Fascism...

If Trump had come out with this in 2020, they couldn’t have cheated enough to win against him. He didn’t have the courage to confront them then, but better late than never.

The only reason I’d vote for him again is if he led the charge against all this craziness - which started under him.

You just said it yourself: He’s against mandates. That’s caring about our freedom.

He needs to do a hell of a lot more than he’s done, or I should say he at least needs to speak much more forcefully than he has if he wants the truly show me that he cares about my freedom and is truly against mandates.

If it was about illegal immigration, the economy, or destroying our military, you couldn’t shut him up. And he would be right to speak with passion about those subjects. But now we’re talkin about our freedom concerning these vaccines and mandates. And all he can muster is that the poison...er, vaccines are great and he’s against mandates. Like I said, he’s turned into milquetoast.

Meanwhile Pelosi’s husband just bought stock in three companies that make plexiglass.
