Teslas have replaced the venerable Mercedes as the car of choice in Orange County CA.
Two of my friends bought 2013 Model S Teslas. Both are now on their second Model S, one because he crashed the first car and the other guy just wanted all of the advanced technology available on the 2020 model. You couldn’t pry them out of these cars.
In this last year three others in this group of friends have all bought Model 3 Teslas. I’ve never heard a single complaint out of any of them.
California is not Michigan in the winter. EV’s are boutique vehicles...

Daughter has had one for near 3 years. They drive it all up and down the east coast. Charging is an issue but not impossible to deal with. Eats tires but I think some of it is she neglects to keep them up to the 45 psi.
I live in O.C. part of the time, and owned a Tesla S. Fantastic car for this area and climate.
Understandably so but it's unlikely any of them have used them for long distance trips which would require multiple refueling......
Teslas are fine for short distance commuting and being near home or charging stations. But what is the cost benefit ratio to the average person that doesn’t have 50-100G’s to plop down for a shiny new toy?....................
