Xi Jinping’s crackdown on almost everything in China may be a sign of insecurity or tremendous fear of the monied business sector.
China is currently in a state of stagflation where prices are going up for everything and unemployment is rising, which is a harbinger of little economic growth in the foreseeable future.
Xi Jinping’s crackdown on almost everything in China may be a sign of insecurity or tremendous fear of the monied business sector. Tencent and Alibaba were in the 10 topmost valuable tech companies globally in 2020 and today they are no longer on the list. 38% of the apps disappeared from the app market since 2018. China is about to ban offshore trading services, has not only cracked down on big tech but also social media, tuitions, and games. The crackdown was rationalized in the name of common prosperity, but it is more like a vendetta against businesses --which is causing foreign investors to flee China, making Chinese markets lose 1.5 trillion dollars. The crackdown on celebrities resulted in one social media influencer being fined $210 million.
The CCP wants to dominate Chinese minds and bodies and keep money in China for the Chinese, so it is about to stop the flow of money out of the country, which started by many Chinese businessmen preparing to flee the country. With such a large crackdown on businesses that provide many jobs, China is digging its own grave in the long run and Xi Jinping doesn’t realize it yet.
The unemployed and semi-unemployed might reach 300M+ people, newly unemployed in 7 industries such as entertainment, real estate, and education tutoring. Foreign companies are leaving China – giants like Panasonic, Samsung, Toshiba, Foxconn for a total of about 20,000 companies.

When totalitarian leaders get into trouble like this they often start wars to distract from the ptoblems.
And:
Xi Jinping’s crackdown on almost everything in China may be a sign of insecurity or tremendous fear of the monied business sector.
It may be that he is merely shutting the corral gate now that he has captured all the wild horses he needs (from the free market systems around the world).
If the Chinese government decides they want your property, they simply take it with no compensation.
This is why most third world contries stay third world countries.
No one's property is safe.
Or it may be a sign that the ChiComs plan on invasion.
To paraphrase an old joke: When Xi turn market upside down he have crack up.
There is an element of wishful thinking in the article. Countries weather their crisis’.Another Tiananmen Square would trigger it but I don’t see it happening. Imagine a billion people rioting. Like watching fights at Walmart or Popeyes.
Man, that would be one massive roll-of-the-dice for the Chi-coms.
If they succeed, world domination is at their finger-tips.
If they don't, total economic collapse, (massive starvation and genocide) and generations of shame to follow - they will not recover for a hundred years.
I’ve had people on this forum tell me the CCP would never attack because of the economic and political instability in China. Those FReepers have no clue. As you said, those are the perfect times to rally the population as the country patriotically rushes across the South China Sea. What’s also of concern, our regime is capable of the same once the real shock and awe inflation begins.
That too.
I’m wondering if the ChiComs are readying for something other than bad economic news.
They just took over the Solomons without firing a shot.
Note to our Olympic athletes: Remember Afghanistan.
China striving to be North Korea?
I’m surprised China’s real estate bubble has not burst yet. It is going to sooner or later. Even a dictatorship cannot hide and defy economic reality forever.
Having something and holding something are too different things. Holding things is expensive
Ancient Rome found that out the hard way.
Don’t believe all the anti-Chinese propaganda .
In 1992 the Falon Gong movement began in China and spread like wildfire to as many as 70 million Chinese people. It became very popular, even for many CCP members.
While many view it merely as an exercise routine, it is much more. It has a foundation based upon three principles, 1. Truthfulness 2. Compassion and 3. Forbearance.
These qualities were causing CCP members practicing Falun Gong to quit membership and abandon the CCP.
The practice initially enjoyed support from Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, but by the mid-to-late 1990s the government increasingly viewed Falun Gong as a potential threat due to its size, independence and spiritual teachings. By 1999, government estimates placed the number of Falun Gong practitioners at 70 million.
controversy and tension continued to build. The scale of protests grew until April 1999, when over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners gathered near the central government compound in Beijing to request legal recognition and freedom from state interference. This demonstration is widely seen as catalyzing the persecution that followed.
On 20 July 1999, the CCP leadership initiated a nationwide crackdown and multifaceted propaganda campaign directed against FalunGong. It blocked Internet access to websites that mention Falun Gong, and in October 1999 it declared Falun Gong a “heretical organization” that threatened social stability. Falun Gong practitioners in China are reportedly subject to a wide range of human rights abuses.
The Falon Gong practitioners focus on “cultivation and growth of their soul” and bringing a higher consciousness into themselves very similar to the Christian practice of bringing in the “Holy Spirit.”
Their founder, Li Hongzi escaped to the USA and continues to promote the movement. China has been unsuccessfully trying to extradite him.
Most Freepers are unaware that the Epoch Times newspaper is a Falon Gong affiliated organization.
It has been my own expectation that the Falon Gong movement will lead to a revolution within China in 3 to 4 years.
I am not affiliated with Falon Gong in any way, but have studied it extensively due to its parallels to Christian teachings.
They have supported Trump and the conservative movement worldwide.
This group also supports Steve Bannon.
The perfect storm would be nation wide protests combined with every nations military on alert. Then what? Chicoms are not Russians.
