Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a good evening. This is, I think, the tenth edition of the annual thread dedicated to those among us who, for whatever reason, find ourselves solo on the night before Christmas.
Here in my cozy habitat, it's just me, my faithful hound and, a little later, Ralphie Parker and then George Bailey will make his yearly appearance.
The presents are wrapped and under the tree. After dinner, I'll imbibe a latte and then maybe a little vino.
Anyone else solo tonight?
Yup, not by choice. Got a bit of a flu bug going here and don’t want to spread it to my elderly mother.
I did Boxing Day when I was inn Jamaica for long stretches in the 80s
An unusual local for Christmas
Bullshots and Bloody Marys
Jamaican posh can sure put it down
Parties and more parties from Kingston to port Antonio to st Ann’s all week
Going out for Chinese food on Christmas Day is a Jewish tradition that goes back thousands of years!
This will mark the fourth year I’ll be alone since my angel of a wife was called home to be with the Lord. I’m cooking a steak, mashed potatoes and crock pot pinto beans exactly like my wife and I used to do on Christmas Eve. We always took this day for ourselves.
I’ll meet with kids and grand kids tomorrow.
Any FReeper who may think they “are alone” tonight, or at any time during the year should feel the FReeper love.
You’re not alone in the least!
America’s Voice is doing a Christmas special that looks pretty good. And then some.

George and John will have to wait and I still have cooking to do for tommorrow.
Just my roommate and best friend in life for 62 years are hanging around in our family room with no tv and discussing past Christmases.
Basically, tomorrow will be a replay.
My wife has a bad hip and will be scheduling a replacement in a couple of months. She and I are not up to the normal billion calorie meals and the work that goes in before, during and after the meal.
So we decided to do it different this year.
No guests tonight or tomorrow. Just phone visits and text visits. Then, the same for New Year’s Eve and New Year day.
On January 2, we will have the families here for lunch with pizza and whatever. They will bring their favorites, and we will share the food. After lunch, we will open the presents, take pictures, tell stories and maybe launch a new not Christmas nor New Years holiday.
We are having catered meals tonight and tomorrow. I got them yesterday, and basically we just reheat them.
The one remaining college kid is home for the holidays and semester break. The company, he has worked for on line and in the field has restocked his home office in his parents’s home. He will be working online basically until he goes back to college if the college is open.
His sister is a new RN and is working, this Christmas in the hospital. Then, she can fly out here for New Years to be with us and her family on 2 January.
Most if not all of us are in a new world re relatives, friends and re family and working.
So, we adapt and most will continue loving our families and celebrating in different ways.
Of course not! I have my dog with me.
Thanks for the link. I’ll try it out.
Just hubby and I today and tomorrow. No family nearby and no more livestock or pets. Looking forward to midnight Mass in about 5 hours. We’ll listen to a lot of Christmas music tomorrow, enjoy a nice rib roast and watch the birds eat. We are never alone, Christ comes to all of us.
Here with the family waiting for our Chinese food after Christmas Eve mass. One of our traditions.
Alone, here with the Wife in the mountains of snowy Colorado.
Here’s a small gift of Christmas Eve music from my famous niece and nephews to just you all here, on this thread, tonight...
MERRY CHRISTmas to ALL & to ALL a good night ;-)
I think the Qtards are.Not when they’re living in your head rent free, they’re not : )
Peace of Christmas be with you, brother, and a happy and healthy New Year! God bless!
Just with one other close person.
Had something yesterday with one other person due to scheduling issues.
I like smaller get togethers.
Prayers up for your husband, you, and your family.
Drink Pedialyte.
Been there 25+ times. (Flew to the Middle East quite a few times.)
Hope you feel better!
Hey thanks! Great music and so far I’ve watched two videos. Going back to watch some more. Have a great Christmas!
I got my ‘Know it all’ gaming 19-year-old real good.
I had him going for almost 15 minutes about a terrorist attack in Los Angeles. There were 30 to 40 people trapped in a skyscraper on the 30th floor. Several people dead. It looks like a police officer was at the party when things went bad.
15 MINUTES - Best Christmas in years!
Welcome to the party pal!
