When we are thoroughly sick and tired of the muzzle theater and have, as a people, pretty much resolved we won't be tricked again, that is the time for China to unleash a very deadly virus that has initially mild symptoms after a long infectious period, followed by the deadly phase.

The powers that be have cried wolf to an imaginary wolf loudly enough and long enough that when we stop listening, the real wolf can easily spread far and wide unimpeded.

Expect China to be a black hole of data. Their vaccinated population will ride out the storm largely unaffected, and they will then have a greater Lebensraum, a whole largely unpopulated planet all their own...

Having a subtle, patient and inscrutable enemy is a very bad thing...

So how does the Omicron variant suddenly pop up, spread broadly across the most populated province of South Africa and within a short period gone global?

I had my marker on it being released in South America, at the antipodes from the Wuhan lab.

I didn't take into account China's desire for a depopulated Africa for Lebensraum.

Furthermore, mutations come in 2 flavors, a substitution that doesn’t change the ‘meaning’ of expressed protein like a typo substituting a capital letter for lower case: hire vs Hire this is a “synonymous” mutation, one where the substitution changes the meaning, e.g. hire vs fire is a “non-synonymous” mutation.

In the wild, synonymous mutations are about 2 to 4 times as likely, since they basically don’t affect the genetic outcome much. Non-synonymous mutations are more likely to ‘gum up the works’ and not be passed on. Imagine how long a company would last if every time it needed to hire someone it fired someone instead!

Omicron has a ratio of 25:1 non-synonymous:synonymous mutations.

In the wild we’d expect at least 25:50, up to about 25:100 ratio.

This ain’t a wild strain, folks.

In the wild we’d expect a family tree slowly accumulating one change, maybe two at a time.

Omicron burst onto the scene fully formed, with no immediate ancestors between the original Wuhan lab escapee and itself.

You’re right we aren’t the customer, we are the waste bins into which the true customers dump all their poison. We blindly go back to pay them to add more poison, which they gladly do. I have less respect for MDs now than I do for lawyers, and that is a very low threshold.
