Yup, everybody with two brain cells to rub together noticed. It made some people feel better because we more-or-less know he will not run. His quip about wanting to run against Trump was just smack. He is done at nearly 80 and knows it.

Not only is it a wonder he is still alive, it is a miracle of sorts but why I can’t understand.

He is a sick old man and will not make three more years unless he is carried and propped up even more than he is now. His support for that is faltering from what I can see of the upcoming evacuation of staffers. Sure, the hard core will be there but the rest, not so much.
