Salvation Army apologizes in a radio ad
TigerDroppings ^ | 12/23/2021 | JPinLondon

Posted on 12/23/2021 12:46:47 PM PST by MacNaughton

I arrived at MSY last night, and listening to 1150 AM WJBO in Baton Rouge now. Just heard a rather profound and sincere apology / clarification from someone involved in the Salvation Army regarding their anti-white nonsense.

On a scale of 1 to 10 as far as how well he addressed the wrongs of that racist bullshite, I would rate it a 6 at best. I am not asking anyone to change their minds, but wanted to know if y'all heard it?

I am waiting for them to announce they have eliminated their Grand Poobah of Diversity and Inclusion before I drop another buck in the bucket, but the apology was a step in that direction.

I kind of feel bad about it because I think they do help people in need

I feel bad too and hope they can redeem themselves. They do a lot of good. Back when I was still active duty, I had read an article about a Navajo Indian family that, for various reasons, was not able to get into any sort of decent housing. They had a 3 year old son and their "home" was the body of an old school bus - on a dirt floor. Winter was coming and I could not get the picture of that little boy sleeping on a dirt floor out of my head, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and I started a massive fund raiser.

I went on radio and even TV to pitch the fund raiser. The one BIG problem I had was that I did not want to touch the money. I needed a thrid pary with some credibility to be the conduit for the collection effort.

I approached several organizations who turned down the proposal, but the SA were the ones who said yes, they would help me raise the cash. So, all of the donations were mailed to the SA and put into a special account. Sometime in December of that year we had enough and were able to buy them a second hand mobile home. It wasn't fancy, but it was a damn site better than what they had been living in.

When it came time to get the trailer, that's when we told the family what was going on and had them driven out to Albuquerque from Arizona so they could pick out the trailer they wanted. When they got here the mom and dad and the boy, along with about eight cousins and grand parents, ended up spending the night at our house. It was the firt time the little boy had ever slept in a real bed. The next day, we went to the used trailer lot (I had already gotten them in on the deal and they agreed to sell whichever used model the family wanted - at cost.

One would think that if poor leadership decisions caused corporate earnings to drop upwards of 50% over a period of a couple of months, those leaders would be immediately and publicly fired and replaced. I don’t see this happening, so I no longer have confidence that donations to the Salvation Army would being properly managed.

I have been very generous donor to SA in the past. That money now goes to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (in addition to my usual St. Jude donation).

Funny... your goal. right there in your name, should be THE SPIRITUAL SALVATION OF THE LOST, and SPREADING THE GOOD NEWS OF CHRIST’S SACRIFICE. For EVERYBODY. Is anything, shouldn’t you be condemning the Egyptians for the enslavement of the JEWS? I mean fairly... they came first. You need to condemn modern-day Egyptians for crimes their ancestors did years ago. If this makes no sense to you,,, you just don’t get it.

Sooo, here’s what “justice” is. It is what a person deserves. Justice is NOT always a good thing for the person getting it. It can be a really bad, sucky thing too. For example, justice for a murderer is getting executed.

In that vein, someone who is a drunk or a drug addict, deserves to be sleeping under a bridge, and going hungry. They deserve to be cold in the winter, and eat up with skeeters in the summertime. Giving them a home to live in is not justice.

On the other hand, a divorced working woman with two children, sleeping in her car in San Francisco because she can not afford the rent, does deserve a roof over her head, and food stamps and I do not begrudge that as long as she continues to work and takes good care of her kids. Long term she needs a tiny house to live in once the kids are gone, or she needs to move to another location.

All poor people are not the same, and if we try to treat them the same, the bad ones will probably never get better, and there will not be enough money to help those who need help.

Could this apology be from a local chapter? There is nothing on their web site but that ridiculous denial posted back in November. And we still don’t know the result of their review. You would think they would have this apology prominently posted if they were serious about it.

A reasonable question. There was no identifier. Sounded like it was probably from SA-USA.

I agree. Actions speak louder than words. Let them fire every last DIE flack and submit to commit self-abasement, admitting that what they were doing was racist against whites, and then apologize profusely for what they did.

Thanks for that addition. I did have the original SA booklet on a web-site, but it has since gone dark.

There are way too many conservative causes that need money. I’ll never give another penny to S.A.

... My affection for the SA comes from a World War II combat vet who told me that in the Winter in Europe, the SA was on the front lines with free coffee and donuts, while the Red Cross was in the rear, and charged for donuts. That was enough for me

Similar experience with me except it was my paternal grandmother from New Brunswick, Canada, and her story went back to WWI. She could still recall the names of the local boys who didn't come home from WWI. Her only advice to me was if you can ever do a good turn for the SA, do it! Ironically I became an American Red Cross volunteer for 15 years. This SA business hurts.

That’s quite a great thing you did for that family. I’d wager you changed that boy’s life.

And the fact that SA was the only one to step out of their regular protocol to help is what I admire about them. Only in an organization not mired in bureaucracy could that happen.

Hopefully they’ll get back there once they oust the wokesters.

So where can I hear this 6/10 apology?

Sorry. I did a DDG search for it and all I got was JPinLondon's post on TigerDroppings.

I read 108 comments but didn’t come across, Appenix D; “Denial of Racism” ... Taken from SA’s Workbook.

Good point. The complete workbook, "Let's Talk About Racism", was scrubbed from the SA's website. It can be found as a link in the article below.

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/12/the_salvation_army_takes_an_even_deeper_dive_into_wokedom.html

Sorry. I am having trouble with posting this link in html.

Thanks for posting the URL. It loaded slowly for me. I tried searching for it earlier since I had the url and DDG did not provide me an operable link. Again, thanks for sharing this workbook which the SA has scrubbed from its web-site.

Too bad. So sad. Sucks to be you.

You have announced to the world that your organization is rotten with wokesters and there’s no recovery from that.

Woke and gonna go broke.

That mission statement sounds like something Jim Jones would have written for the Peoples Temple in the mid ‘70s.
