I arrived at MSY last night, and listening to 1150 AM WJBO in Baton Rouge now. Just heard a rather profound and sincere apology / clarification from someone involved in the Salvation Army regarding their anti-white nonsense.
On a scale of 1 to 10 as far as how well he addressed the wrongs of that racist bullshite, I would rate it a 6 at best. I am not asking anyone to change their minds, but wanted to know if y'all heard it?
I am waiting for them to announce they have eliminated their Grand Poobah of Diversity and Inclusion before I drop another buck in the bucket, but the apology was a step in that direction.

They are SO dead to me.
Like many on this board, my love for the SA stemmed from my experience with them while in the service. But it went south with their decision to go political in 2017.
People aren’t mad at the bell ringers. The ringers are just the public face of the organization. People are angry that they have been betrayed. That the SA has not only insulted them, but has robbed them of that feeling you get when you do something good...especially if you do it anonymously. People had trust in the SA that it would “do the right thing with donations” unlike many other large charities.
Now, that trust is gone....and folks do not take kindly to that.
Ironically -- where did their pandering to "white guilt" get them? Did liberals & minorities flock en masse to drop $$ into the kettles?
I once argued with a BLM type (online) how these companies & institutions (like Hollywood) were alienating their core base. She asked, "What core base?"
She failed to understand how a lot of these places have in the past been loyally supported. Once "racist" Middle America leaves the picture, there aren't going to be any progressive types rushing in to fill the void. They intrinsically have no interest in keeping these places afloat, only sinking them.
I'm not a businesswoman or charity fundraiser, but I know this much: know your demographic and stay in their good graces.
That is compelling. Nice.
Too late. The CEO needs to be fired for this disastrous marketing campaign. You don’t apologize 2 days before Christmas.
So where can I hear this 6/10 apology?
I agree with your proposal citing their past good work and the need for rescue. .....The wokesters are so embedded and “righteous” however, that it is doubtful that admission of guilt will ever happen.
Can’t be 100% sure, but with 66 years of treading this earth, I’m 95% sure.
I read 108 comments but didn’t come across,

“Denial of Racism”
We must stop denying the existence of individual and systemic/institutional
Racism. They exist and are still at work to keep White Americans in Power.

Interesting. Yesterday I was leaving my Publix and there were 3 bell ringers- 1 white guy and 2 black women. I haven’t donated to them since I read their “manifesto”.
I actually stopped to talk- I wondered what their reaction might be. The women looked at me with confusion- “what are you talking about”? The guy knew. I said I’d trusted them and had been donating money and items for decades and wanted him to know why I wouldn’t be anymore and I wouldn’t be apologizing. I was calm and polite. His reaction was anger- he told me I was hurting people in need. I said no sir, your leadership is doing that, please tell them there are many of us that feel betrayed, mad and blindsided. He knows- he kinda shook his head with me - not angry anymore. Maybe unhappy though.
That’s what I was thinking. I will never again donate to them. They have announced their Nazi hatred of a group of people and I believe the apology is for cash. I’ve found another local group that does great things locally. I’ll be giving to them instead.
95% is good.
I saw a huge digital billboard from the SA today thanking everyone for their help and donations. Never have seen that before.
In case you don’t know what the furor is about - I believe this has been deleted online but thanks to the wayback machine, here it is :
All through it, there are Bible verses thrown in our faces, George Floyd references, how to repent and apologize for our racism, the extent of our racism for being white, etc.,...
This was not created overnight- it is apparent that this has been in the works for YEARS. This document is very researched and very extensive.
SA is dead to me forever.

Everything the leftist gay community activist touch the poison and kill.
Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn’t have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn’t come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN’T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!
If you see him again, ask him if he believes in these things published by SA:
“And as we engage in conversations about race and racism, we must keep in mind that sincere repentance and apologies are necessary if we want to move towards racial reconciliation. We recognize that it is a profound challenge to sit on the hot seat and listen with an open heart to the hurt and anger of the wounded. Yet, we are all hardwired to desire justice and fairness, so the need to receive a sincere apology is necessary.”
“If you are a POC, you do not have any responsibility to feel comfortable, nor do you have the responsibility to comfort others; acting in that role plays into the racial myth unconsciously imposed upon POCs.”
Some of their definitions at the end of the document make me shake my head:
Anti-Black: a person or an entity that is opposed to, hostile towards, or antagonistic to Black people or the culture, values and interests of the Black community.47
Anti-racist: fighting against racism. Being anti- racist results from a conscious decision to make frequent, consistent, equitable choices daily. These choices require ongoing self-awareness and self-reflection as we move through life. In the absence of making anti-racist choices, we (un) consciously uphold aspects of White supremacy, White-dominant culture, and unequal institutions and society. Being racist or anti-racist is not about who you are; it is about what you do.48
Colorism: refers to the prejudice that favors a lighter skin color, or a perceived proximity to Whiteness, within and among communities, cultures and groups.
Whiteness: Whiteness and White racialized identity refer to the way that White people,
their customs, culture and beliefs operate as the standard by which all other groups are compared. Whiteness is also at the core of understanding race in America. Whiteness and the normalization of White racial identity throughout America’s history have created a culture where non-White persons are seen as inferior or abnormal.95
White supremacy: a racist ideology that is based upon the belief that White people are superior
in many ways to people of other races and that therefore White people should be dominant over other races. It is an ideology, a paradigm, an institutional system, and a worldview. It is historic and modern legislating, societal conditioning and systematic institutionalizing of the construction
of Whiteness as inherently superior to people of other races.96
