I never trust any hallucinogen that makes me puke.
In before the “It satan!” crowd.
"I'll be the psychedelic one around here if you don't mind..."
Hallucinogens like mushrooms and the like make an excellent antidepressant. Was always afraid of trying them until I was talked into by a friend who previously avoided all drugs himself. I wish they would legalize mushrooms around here like they’ve already done in a few places.
And, being a person who previously grew them for thier
beauty only - make sure you only plant them only where
you will not mind looking at them every year - forever.
They are a virulent weed that is nearly impossible to
erradicate, once established. A very pretty virulent weed,
but a weed nonetheless.
Make sure that you REALLY like them before you decide to plant them.
We used to pick the flowers and suck the honey (nectar) from their base.
Don’t ever remember getting high from that, but I was a happy kid.
Funny timing for this. I got some morning glory seeds from a friend this April, that he received from a kindergartener that was handing the seeds out to neighbors, as a result of the kid’s kindergarten class all growing morning glories. I planted four seeds and grew four huge vines that grew up to 12 feet and produced 150 seeds or more. I can’t wait to replant them in the spring. Because of this fortunate serendipity between my friend’s meeting the kid, him graciously taking the free seeds, and him giving them to me, I also studied about morning glories this summer and read all the same information about how some strains are hallucinogenic. I never figured out how to get determine which ones are though, as there seem to be hundreds of strains, but I will dig deeper after I read this article carefully. Note for those that know more about this than I do : I think my strain comes from Asia and all the flowers are a nice pink/purple color and produce seed pods with between 2 to 5 fairly large, black seeds.
What’s the story Morning Glory?
Bkmk
[[They thrive in disturbed forests]]
Where trees stand aroudn yelling at noone in particular, and barking like mad dogs
As we used to say back in the day: “Far out.”
Morning Glory is one of my favorite fall flowers! And no I do not try to eat them before anyone asks :0)
[singing] she’s my girl, and that’s where I went last night, off in a dream...
