VERY STUPID MOVE as all that will accomplish is making the next generation of conservatives unqualified for any work. Better solution is to fight and fix things rather than quit and cower. This is a bit of the overall problem, too many people prefer quitting.
Unless it is Heavy STEM, being recruited for paid internships, and starting positions are 80K per year, in this economic climate a 20 year old is wasting ones time on a 4 year degree. One can jump into fortune 5000 and get further paid education as a benefit. There is zero hiring diffraction in Enterprise IT field on a Associates degree or Masters degree. All 24 year olds need about 6 years of training to become useful corporate worker bees for the 40 hours a week we need them. Once they are 30 we then can decide if they should interact with Sr. Staff in any useful way.
Yeah, there’s nothing like graduating with a degree that will get you a low-paying job while you pay off your $100k+ student loans.
I was lucky, I got my useless degree when tuition was $200 a semester. All the things I needed to learn were learned outside of school. It all worked out very well.
There are still good universities out there which are serious. I went to one of them. They place 98% of their graduates in either professional schools, a in a job related to their major or into graduate school (primarily science, engineering, nursing, seminary or teaching). As you might guess it is a Christian school. Don’t drop out, find a good school.
Unqualified for what?
Wrong! We want our kids and grandkids to be absolutely as successful as possible. Do NOT send your kids to be indoctrinated at the so called "institutions of higher education." It's a scam and a rip off.
Send them to get degrees in the hard sciences or trades where they can learn a skill. Our children are being dumbed down and prepared only to be serfs.
I agree with Cawthorn on the let them get degrees in engineering and medicine, but the last thing we need is more lawyers.
By all means, home school if you can. The kids are not getting educated now in the public schools. They are being dumbed down to the max and most parents don't know or don't care.
Do both. Study many subjects. Also learn how to fix things so as not to be dependant on professionals all the time. Try not to support “victim” studies and don’t go to schools which have majors in that. But I agree with Cawthorn on many things, as reported in the article, but not all. He sounds pretty solid overall.
BS. He is exactly right.
There are places besides college to receive education and gain skills.
My oldest met her husband 1st semester of college. He left and took a full time job with a credit union, worked his way up to Branch Manager and is now an independent mortgage officer. He calls his own hours.
Also got his pilot’s license and worked off his hours requirements by flying skydivers on weekends
They married at 22, bought a duplex and lived in half, then bought a single family home a few years later.
They didn’t have a TV for the first 5 yr of their marriage, but they owned 2 houses and 2 airplanes before age 30. Their children have the benefit of both parents being home to raise them.
