William Shatner was involved in a car accident on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, Calif., Tuesday afternoon, as evidenced from photographs taken from the scene.
The “Star Trek” star, 90, was driving alone in his black Mercedes-Benz SUV when he got into an accident with an unidentified woman driving a silver Acura sedan.
It’s unclear how the incident happened, or who caused it, but it appears both cars were damaged in the wreck.

I would be thrilled to be driving at 90—of course the other folks on the road may not be so thrilled.

They were in a Ludicrous Speed Zone.
My eye doctor related this to me last month...
When I started in this biz 30 years ago, I’d get about one 90 year old a week, they come in a wheelchair with an assistant, usually on oxygen.
Now I have 4 or 5 90 yr old patients a week that drive themselves here.
The cop told him he had to go back to Starfleet Academy for a refresher course.

I had a grandmother who was in excellent health at age 94 but her eyesight and reflexes were not that great.
She got into an accident (hit a pedestrian, slow speed caused minor injuries) and the state insisted she turn in her driver license unless she could get a doctor to give her the green light to drive.
She visited her long-time doctor and begged and cried and he gave in and signed the necessary forms.
She did drive without incident for a couple more years.
The Acura is totaled...
Looks, to me, like she pulled out of a lane or parking spot into him...
He has on a blue disposable mask, so I don’t think he was driving with it on. It’s probably like the one my husband shoves in his jean pocket before he goes out, just in case he HAS to put it on for some reason ... I have a few in the console of my car for the same reason.
He could pass for 50.. o.o
Man, that’s what I was thinking. Other than being portly, he sure is a young looking 90... if there is such a thing.

Her car is totaled. The insurance company and Shatner will pay for a new car for her.
