Stephen A. Smith has tested positive for COVID-19, the ESPN personality announced Tuesday on “First Take.”
Smith, 54, appeared virtually on the show and said his positive test result was the reason he missed Monday’s episode.
The longtime broadcaster said he is experiencing mild symptoms and had a fever over the weekend.
Smith noted that he has gotten two Pfizer vaccine shots, but has not yet received a booster.

Spreading like brushfire in New England right now. Even the POTUS was exposed this weekend from a staffer. Governor of Maryland too. Two triple jabbed Senators. Jim Cramer from CNBC. And now this Smith guy (I don’t watch ESPN). Only a matter of time until it hits everywhere else. Keep yourselves safe.
Hopefully this Omicron spells the end of the pandemic.
I wouldn’t cry if Shep got it, but I’ll settle for Stephen A. Smith, don’t forget the ‘A’.
We watch him on ESPN fairly regularly and he’s a loudmouth that seems to never have anything good to say about anybody, and especially the Cowboys, whom he hates with a passion. I don’t know why. .................
If only he had gotten the booster.

Sooner or later, we will all get some strain of COVID-19. That’s always been the case. The vaccines have been available for a year now for anyone who wants them, and they will reduce the severity of the infection for anyone who does catch the virus. It’s long past time we stopped acting like hysterical children and got back to normal life.
