ATLANTA - One man is recovering in the hospital after a shooting at a Buckhead movie theater late Monday night.
Shortly before 10:45 p.m. Monday, Atlanta police were called to the movie theater inside Phipps Plaza on Peachtree Road.
According to officers, the gunman was angry about where the victim was sitting in the theater. An argument between the two men got heated, and the gunman opened fire, officials say.

You would think the mall cameras would have footage of the suspect.

The suspect is described as ‘a man’ - be on the lookout.
I recall when ‘nice’ people could no longer safely go to the bars in Buckhead Sunday evening. Ruined by the same crowd.
Phipps and Lenox Mall used to be THE places for the hoity today to shop. Your kids could go there and genuinely be fine.

Buckhead is the part of Atlanta where the wealthier, white people live. They've been trying to become incorporated from Atlanta for a while now so they can have their own police department. It's home to the nicest, most luxurious malls in Atlanta.
Unfortunately, there's been an influx of crime from people who travel to Buckhead from the surrounding areas.
No, Buckhead is one of the richest areas in metro Atlanta. There is currently a movement for the Buckhead geographic area to incorporate as a city and break away from the City of Atlanta. They want to become a city and beef up policing and crack down on the thugs who currently plague Phipps Plaza, Lenox Square and Buckhead generally.
Buckhead used to be a bar hopping area. Park your car, you could walk to a dozen or more different bars and you were relatively safe.
Then the amish started showing up. Shootings, stabbings, fights, you know, typical amish behavior.
People quit going to bars, they eventually closed, developers moved in, tore down all the old buildings and put up expensive high rises.
Quite a rich area now, located just north of mid-town.
That is a very high end theater at a very high end mall. I’ve been there several times.
It’s actually the high end part of Atlanta. Lots of old money and new money. The governor’s mansion. Etc.

When Buckhead started going down, I bailed on the city.

Phipps Plaza is right across from Lenox Square.
Decades ago, Lenox was considered the upscale shopping mall in Atlanta. Phillips was the super-upscale shopping mall.
Then they built a MARTA rail station right next to Lenox Mall. As one person who owned a store in Lenox told me: the traffic skyrocketed, but purchases dropped through the floor.
“Kids” from downtown and the southside would hop on MARTA and get off at Lenox to hang out. Today, Lenox is one of the least safe malls in the area.
Phipps fought this off with extra security (and the fact that Lenox sat between it and the stations) for years. It seems they have lost the fight. I admit I haven’t been to Phipps Plaza in decades, I’ve been informed it is just as bad as Lenox today.

No its the really nice high priced area that wants to separate from the rest of Atlanta .. Neimann Marcus is just a bloke away from Phipps at Lenox Square Mall ...
