Less than one percent of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) employees were fired after failing to comply with a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

On Tuesday, the school board moved to fire 496 of the district's approximately 73,000 workers.

Most of the staff had probably been on leave since mid-October...

...Of those fired, 418 were....instructional aides, cafeteria workers, custodians and others....

...Meanwhile, around 34,000 students have also not been vaccinated as mandated for children ages 12 and older...

...In Los Angeles, students who are not fully vaccinated—or exempt—will be forced into the district's independent study program or will have to leave the Los Angeles public school system.....

The article says about 600 religious exemption applications among the school staff are under review. No word on the number of student exemption applications.

According to the Patch "... 3,258 new COVID infections on Monday...and "741 COVID-positive patients... 172... in intensive care..." or just under 1/4 of hospitalized covid were ICU. It was also noted that infections in care homes were down 11%, largely because of a high vaccination rate amongst the elderly (84%), against a low vaccination rate (50%) amongst caregivers.

If you look at robberies/violence....not only in Cal, but Portland/Seattle, and NY City...there’s just not much reason to hang around and wait for things to improve.

Even if you were talking about a 3-day week in SF, or Seattle, I’d be asking why would you go and take the risk?

Since we are talking about LAUSD: 34,000 students leaving the system would greatly increase English literacy in Southern California. Hope they follow thru and kick them out, for the good of the children.

Yes, it is the “intent” of the #ComDem POLs to bring total chaos and destruction to the USA.

It is our duty to end this.

Even some of the Democrats get it. Hence many are not running for re-election.
