Is anybody having an Omicron surge? I think the (hospitalized) cases are mostly Delta. Or are they sequencing every Tom, Dick, and Karen that shows up at the testing sites? (I’m just guessing that they wait until hospitalization to do the sequencing. Seems like it would be too expensive to do on the public at large. Perhaps I’m wrong.)

I heard a virologist say Omicron may be God’s gift. It is highly contagious, has no symptoms in most cases, and has fewer symptoms than the vaccines’ side effects. He said early studies indicate Omicron may offer better immunity than vaccines or a previous infection of another COVID strain.
