I swooned....and sat for his movies all day long...They didn't kick you out years ago...

BUT in hindsight....his acting stunk.

Streisand and Peters had no cause for regrets, of course. Though her old friend Neil Diamond was briefly considered for the role, she and Kristofferson meshed well on screen, and the 1978 A Star is Born, made for $6 million, grossed $80 million and was the second highest-grossing film of 1976.

Wow! That's incredible!

I saw the Barbara Streisand version of A Star Is Born. I’m still in therapy. Kris Kristofferson’s acting makes Chuck Norris look like Sir Lawrence Olivier. 😝

There have been four versions of the movie made? 1937, 1954, 1976, and 2018? I wonder if that’s some record for the most remakes of a movie.

The Colonel’s secretary was my next door neighbor while I was in Indianapolis in 1977 for Army training. She had Elvis knock on my door and meet me. I was a buck sergeant in uniform; Elvis told me he was a Sergeant in the Army too. I asked him if he liked jelly donuts and he laughed and rubbed his belly. We talked for about 10 minutes. Bobby (secretary) had every single 45 RPM and 33 RPM record; she had one of his Gold Records on her wall - everything she had was signed, “Bobby, Love Elvis”. I loved Elvis and it was a wonder moment. When he passed away, before it hit the news I called soon to be ex-wife and she left me over the call, because Elvis’s death didn’t happen until the next day; she freaked out and that was it for her - I’m glad she left since she was spiritually weirded out.

So it became the 2nd hghest grossing movie in 76 and a year later he dieds a fat drug addict that gave up on himself. Yeah movie had nothing to do with it. I’ve heard that Parkers refusal for the movie was the main reason Elvis just gave up.
