I like that these are probably $150K houses, not McMansions w/ HOA’s and hired lighting.

I love the handmade cut out moving decorations. Very 1950s popular mechanics! Something those fathers would do.

I’m with you on the handmade cutout characters. Nothing turns me off more than these store bought inflatable monstrosities lit with stadium lights.
We have a house down the street that puts up very cute old-fashioned cutout characters that are beautifully painted. Two widows live there — they are in their 80s and they still keep the tradition alive! They had to remove a big pine tree from their front yard, but kept the stump at 8 feet to make a roofed hobbit house with a door and windows.

Love them!
A lot easier to store, than the old blow molds (did you see the blow mold Nativity?).
Now, folks just deflate their outdoor decos and put them away, til next year.

Yes I saw the molded nativity.
I remember families had them stored in the attics

I have cousins that live in Newberry and Williamsport. It is exactly how
you said. The old lumber baron mansions are up on the hill behind Williamsport.
