Vaccinating the entire U.S. population wouldn't create even a blip in the generation of new variants.

95% of the world does not live in the United states, and they generally have much lower rates of vaccination then we do. That 95% of the world will continue generating new variance even if every single American was fully vaxxed. Case in point - neither Delta nor Omicron arose in the United States.

So unless we were to shut our borders completely and permanently, which is a practical impossibilty, we are going to see those new variants coming into the United States no matter what our own policy is regarding vaccinations.
