The National Institute of Health's outgoing director says he ignored calls to ax Dr. Anthony Fauci and was confronted by Donald Trump for defying a request to endorse hydroxychloroquine as a COVID-19 remedy.
In a preview of his CBS New interview, set to air Sunday, retiring NIH boss Dr. Francis Collins said he was pressured by the former president to endorse the malaria drug.
'And I got into a difficult place and got a bit of a talking-to by the president, but I stuck my ground,' he said.
He said he would have resigned before acquiescing to such a request.

He's wrong about the timing. The right timing would have been when Trump called him on the carpet. So that 'new vision' could combat the pandemic, like trying HCQ and letting it fail instead of creating a conspiracy around it by dragging things out. And pushing through production of monoclonals faster, not waiting for the president to have to prove the point himself that they worked. (not to mention being better prepared in the first place)

I have a nephew 50 years old, 150 lbs overweight, diabetes and high blood pressure. In February ‘20 he got Covid. He deteriorated until he was admitted to the IC. He was then given the Hydroxy treatment and was home recovering ten days later. The drug most likely saved his life. When Fauci and his merry band of fraudsters trashed this treatment after Trump touted it, I knew we had all been had and this was a scamdemic. I’ve dismissed the whole Covid circus as the BS it is ever since.

Ironically, in the USA, the death rate is higher in the black community probably due to diabetes and obesity. Also, the black community distrusts the experimental vaccine because they remember the Tuskegee experiment.
