I live the same way, but my loved ones refuse to interact with me... to “protect” me. The ones nearby have informed me they will visit for 30 minutes on Christmas Day after spending all morning with the vaxxed in-laws.
I put up my nativity set for Christmas. That’s it. I can’t bear to look at all the decorations lovingly made and collected through forty years of devotion.
If there isn’t a big boom that shocks everyone, I don’t know how my family can be repaired.
Mine only worry about my husband getting it. They say it’s because I’m almost 20 years younger and in better health. I don’t fret over it anymore. They still come around, no mask when here, but they do the 6-feet thing.
I told her that if they make a real vaccination that Fauci hasn’t touched I might take it but I might not. They aren’t avoiding me but they do avoid my husband “for his own good”. 🙄
I don’t even have the energy to fake “happy” and send Christmas cards to my sisters. I have the cards but have always felt any time before New Year’s Day counts :)
There will be no repairing of these relationships, but like the meme says, “the rift was already there.”
I’m so sorry about the pain that’s causing you. I’m sure it isn’t diminished much by the thought that their reluctance to spend time with you is a tacit admission that their jabs don’t work. If they believed they worked, they wouldn’t be afraid to be in your presence for more than 1/2 hour.
