To me, a scion of a career Army (WW2/Korea/Vietnam), the US Military WAS the melting pot of the ‘e Pluribus Unum’, an institution where meritocracy, not origin, ranked most high. I remember my Dad schooling me that I respect the rank, not the skin, of those in uniform.
President Carter, an Annapolis/USNA graduate, cut the post Vietnam military to the bone, Bill Clinton, a Vietnam draft dodger, had little interest and, balanced the budget (sarcasm) on reducing theirs. Barrack Obama did a great job of pruning the rising ‘flag officers’ of any who did ‘wrong think’. Now Joe Biden is enjoying his supine Chiefs (Afghanistan fiasco) and sees nothing to gain by being at THE GAME.
I’d think better if he was in suffering Kentucky but no, he is just not there!

I watched the replay today because I heard about the Army Field Goal kicker. True enough...After each FG he pretended to smoke dope and put it out on his arm. Big inhale and smile. Really classy stuff
