Grambling State University proposing 18 million dollar fence to be built around campus

Every time I see something like this, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid movie comes to mind...when they were hired to guard the mine payroll - looking for robbers on the way to PICK UP the payroll and Strother Martin said, “Morons - we have morons. We ain’t got no money goin’ DOWN the mountain.”

It’s as classic as “we don’t need no stinkin’ papers.”

WHY do we have so many morons in our midst today?

That’s the most intelligent comment....who gets paid off? That much money doesn’t get spent (borrowed ?) because a fence is necessary - it gets spent because someone needs their palm greased! WHY? Who the heck knows? There really are two types of Americans - those who have and those who get!! Make that three - those who pay the bill!!!!!!

Yes, I earned an MA in economics from the U of C in 1975.
Returned for one year in the mid 1980’.

And yes it would be a huge undertaking. However, if more students are murdered on or near campus, the University may have no choice.

He was on a leave of absence during the year I should have taken his class on Microeconomics, but I did sit in his class the following year. One of the highlights of my life: Professor Friedman was walking home to his condo which was next to the graduate dorm I lived in. I was able to walk and talk with him for about 15 minutes!

It will be interesting to see if major private or public universities located near crime-ridden neighborhoods put up fences. Several big names universities come to mind:
