FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — On the final day of the Josh Duggar child pornography trial, the jury found Duggar guilty on both charges of receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Duggar, 33, faces up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 for each count.
Judge Timothy Brooks announced that sentencing will happen at a later date, which has not been set.
Closing arguments began the morning of Dec. 8 and the verdict was reached on Dec. 9 after two days of deliberation.
The trial lasted six days and saw two witnesses called for the defense, while five witnesses took the stand for the prosecution.
The defense’s witnesses were Digital Forensics expert Michele Bush and Daniel Wilcox, a former Homeland Security Investigations task force member and Rogers Police Department narcotics officer.
The prosecution called five witnesses, including Jim and Bobye Holt, who said they were friends with the Duggar family.
Bobye Holt said during her testimony that Josh confessed to her about molesting young girls when he was a teenager.
Duggar was arrested on April 29, 2021. He was released from police custody to a third-party custodian on May 5, 2021.

Yep in retrospect he should have taken the plea bargain.
He will watch his kids grow up behind the plexiglass on prison visiting days, if their mom even brings the kids to visit daddy.
His new baby daughter might be a grown woman by the time he gets out of prison.
Guess he thought he was above it all…or something. Anyone who watches that stuff obviously doesn’t think straight.
We know of a man caught doing this. He got jail time. When he got out he did it again. Never saw natural sunlight again.
Sadly, some of his children probably are all too well aware of his sick predilections. Pray for them.
20 Years and Counting
A most unwilling one I hope.
amen
“It seems sometimes the most religious people are the most wicked.”
I can see how you arrive at that assumption, but this guy isn’t religious.
Don’t assume that it’s the perceived religiosity that, for example, got this weird-a$$ family on TV and gained them fame and fortune. Most often when you see someone who seems religious - or at least s/he claims to be religious - but then he’s on TV: That should cast some doubt on things right there. He claims to love Nob, but....hm....he’s on television....hmmmm....
There may be some people of genuine faith who are on television, but I wouldn’t want the task of finding them. (Isn’t good old Tucker, supposedly a “real religious conservative,” friendly with Punter Pieden to the point that he covered for one of his scandals? That’s what I read, and it’s not hard to believe! So much for Tucker! I mean, he can do the commentary - talk the talk - but as far as “religious conservative” goes, meh. Just give me the news and collect your giant paycheck from the liberal news media, and stick the rest you-know-where.)
I would opine that the TV folks already knew this guy Josh D was a freak and they got put on TV because “Won’t it be a ratings hit when he’s finally busted? And it’ll make the Baptists look TERRIBLE!!!”
When someone like that gets caught it makes all people of professed faith suspect. It really IS hard to tell a sincere Xtian or conservative these days because - and I apologize advance for saying this, but it’s true - it’s so easy to talk the talk. You don’t have to walk the walk, necessarily, but it’s easy to fake that, too. (Weren’t Brack and Moo regular attendees at their local “place of worship”....? You see someone at church every week when he could be watching TV, you aren’t going to grill him over his credentials.)
Just like you can learn enough English to get by watching “sesame street,” you can learn enough religiosity from watching TV evangelism.
It’s unfortunate that so many people these days have no understanding of religious faith or worship and that this lack of understanding leads to such errors as millions of people thinking that Josh Duggar is a typical Baptist.
As I tell many of my clients, pride gets very expensive.
they think it’s a shield...
In before the “he was only found guilty because he is a Christian”blah, blah, blah. My hopes is that those innocent children, if not deceased by now, can be found and saved. Thanks for the update, Morgana.
The gov’t got their dirty little fingers every where. Were it a priority they could do it. Not Homeland of course. But then there was a report about all the porn on the CIA servers.
Duggar is obviously a troubled soul, he could have been framed. But the door was opened when the parents admitted he had molested girls when he was a kid.
He would not have been as a big a target if he were not from a family of Fundamentalist Christians. So the prosecution could be totally warranted, but selective prosecution was employed here in my opinion. I know my opinion means absolutely nothing. But I feel better having expressed myself.
Maybe when he gets out of prison he can get the role in the new Batman movie that will be made around the time of his release. He could play a new villian called, “The Diddler”.
yes sirree!! Hiding behind being holy when they are nasty perverts.
Just wondering, what is his status right now. Is he in custody awaiting sentencing?
He’s in custody. He will spend likely 40 years in prison. Sad he chose this life. Hope he gets right with God behind bars.
Well, Josh...Go To Jail...do not pass Go...Do Not Collect $200.
...and meet your cellmate, Big Bubba, who likes pretty boys.
Catholic Church is still full of such....they burrow in and hide there.
