The Sun has made a scary claim about China’s container ships
American Thinker ^ | 7 Dec, 2021 | Andrea Widburg

Most of the Western world has transferred its manufacturing sectors to China. Every single day, Chinese container ships ply the world’s oceans, fanning out to every continent except, maybe, for Antarctica. We’ve long known that those ships are carrying cheap goods and the West’s economic destruction, but The Sun is contending that those same ships are likely to be disguised missile launchers.

Here’s the main part of the story, although you should visit The Sun to read the whole thing:

CHINA has been secretly developing Trojan Horse-style missiles hidden in shipping containers that can be unleashed on enemy ports, experts warn.

Military analysts believe the country’s huge fleet of freighters and fishing vessels could be turned into warships with the use of the secretive container missiles.

Disguised as a regular shipping containers, they can be sneaked on board a vessel to blend in seamlessly with the hundreds of others on board.

Globalists following zero tariffs and slave labor made it happen, not the American consumer.

So your solution is to force the American consumer spend more?

Cheap offshore manufacturing has costs, and there have been winners and losers, but in total it's increased our standard of living.

The offshoring happened first, and over consumers’ protests about shoddy quality.

Yet those same consumers refuse to spend any more for a US made product.

Go figure.

If China were to attack the U.S., its targets of destruction would be limited.

But if it were instead a “strategic raid” they China would indeed go for maximum damage in places like Guam, Okinawa & Hawaii. The Japanese did so 80 years ago today.

What a funny article to be published on Dec. 7.

U.S. Ports and infrastructure, like the U.S. Battleships in 1941, are merely projections of U.S. power. They are not the foundations of that power.

The Japanese celebrated their ‘victory’ for about 4 months. Then Doolittle’s Raiders gave the Japanese a taste of American Resolve and sowed a few seeds of doubt.

Two months later, the Japanese Carriers were sent to the bottom of the Pacific just west of Midway. After that, Japanese defeat was only a matter of time.

Something to think about: from Dominator to Defender in less than six months.

Can America ever work up that kind of resolve again?

Remember 9/11?

For about 2 years (until W decided Iraq was somehow responsible), this country came together again.

If the Chinese decided to destroy U.S. port facilities, do you think this country would really roll over?

Consider: most of the people who would die in such an event are not the bankers, brokers, and first responders that died on 9/11. This event would include everyday Americans … Longshoremen, Teamsters, Electricians, Plumbers, etc.

I understand what you are saying. I have often thought since that I will hand out candy like the Palestinians the next time NY or LA are hit.

Still, I think there is something a little different between a terrorist entity and an aggressive nation entity initiating the strike.

BUT...its a great idea if you are trying to win without an all out fight.

China has no reason to attack us, we are doing an outstanding job of destroying ourselves. Why get in our way.

The American consumer first chose to purchase the cheaper Chinese good rather than the well-made item in the next bin. No, American consumers did this to themselves.

No, American consumers did this to themselves.

From America First, to people like you who blame Americans first. The woeful ignorance of voters is astonishing. Thank god for Trump and his tariffs and dissembling of Nafta. As for you, stay in the Bushes.

FReeper Jeff Head predicted strategies like this almost 20 years ago in his "Dragon's Fury" book series. He projected the lines and foresaw this stuff a long while back.

He hasn't posted here in a couple of years now. I hope he's ok.

You are the one who is ignorant on this issue. I watched people in the stores choose between real "Hot Wheels" and the Chinese versions: They went cheap. I watched people choose between a Wilton vise and a crappy Chinese vise: They chose the cheap one. I watched people choose between a good Irwin screw drivers and Chinese play tools: The chose the cheap set.

This forced the manufactures to reduce their costs, which was labor. They engaged Chinese companies to make their goods. Next they were forced by market pressures to use crappy materials in their products. Also, parts became thinner with the use of less crappy material.

Now I'll tell you something else. The middle man, like Walmart, was already making obscene profit levels. I visited a Singer factory that was making power hand tools for Sears. I spotted a router that I owned, and pointed that out to the comptroller of the factory. I told him that I paid $72 for the router. He replied, "We deliver that to Sears for $7.28! 1000% markup!".

All retailers mark up that much.

American labor was never the issue. The issue is greed at the middle man and cheapness in the customers.

The first American company to engage Chinese manufacturing companies for their product was Hewlett Packard. They were pressured by the retailers to lower their printer prices or lose their place on the shelves. HP had already stripped a lot of quality out of their machine in order to reduce cost, all that was left to reduce was labor.

you’d have to track and target virtually every single Chinese freighter..

Why? The only containers that could launch missiles are those on the very top row, or possibly sides. Containers stacked internally, or the vast majority, wouldn't need to be scanned.

Pure wind.

Without NATFA, GATT & the WTO creating a zero tariff barrier to imported Chinese and Mexican goods, American corporations would never have left our shores. Once corporations are relocated (thank you phony Chamber of Commerce conservatives) they enjoy labor at bread and water wages that can't be matched here. But keep bashing the American consumer for something that aren't responsible for. Trade decisions are way over their pay grade.

Well maybe, but they'd never actually like USE them against us or anything like that because we're nice to them.

See?
