Nashville police arrested a woman on Thursday (Nov. 2) accused of carrying a handgun on the East Nashville Magnet School’s campus, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department reported.
Barquita Williams was released from police custody on $1,000 bond.
According to the police, the incident stemmed from a physical fight in the school building between two female students at dismissal time. They had argued with each other earlier in the day. As they fought in a stairwell of the school, several other students jumped into the brawl.
Meanwhile, parents were waiting outside to pick up their kids as the students scuffled inside the school building. Williams, 38, and several other parents decided to go inside.
Eventually, officers broke up the fight. Some of the parents told the police that Williams had a gun, which she denied but consented to a search. A school resource officer found a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun during the body search.
MNPD Lieutenant Jason Picanzo told local station WKRN that Williams asked her child to retrieve a gun from her car before she entered the school building.
“That child proceeds to get the firearm and brings it to the mother, and at that point patrol officers were called to assist the Student Resource Officers,” the officer stated.

I would never tell a woman she couldn’t carry a gun for self-defense. It’s just that you need to be aware of the local laws. Bringing a gun into a school is almost always a no no. Permit or not. Educrats like their schools to be free fire zones for some reason.
Are you nuts. This women was probably a gang banger(women’s auxiliary). This most likely would not have ended well if she was not stopped.

Don’t carry a firearm to school is the first thing they teach you at concealed carry class, right after the 4 Universal Safety Laws.
So, she wasn't inadvertently armed when she entered, but intentionally armed herself, then was stupid enough to deny being armed, but consented to a search.
Something smells, and it's not just her arm pits.
The Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990/1995 is a FedMob law.
Barquita would be finished if the FedMob still abided by equality under the law.
