The omicron variant is likely to have picked up genetic material from another virus that causes the common cold in humans, according to a new preliminary study, prompting one of its authors to suggest omicron could have greater transmissibility but lower virulence than other variants of the coronavirus.

They say this particular mutation could have occurred in a host simultaneously infected by SARS-CoV-2, also known as the novel coronavirus, and the HCoV-229E coronavirus, which can cause the common cold. The shared genetic code with HCoV-229E has not been detected in other novel coronavirus variants, the scientists said.
The study is in preprint and has not been peer-reviewed.
The “striking” similarity between omicron and HCoV-229E could have made the former “more accustomed to human hosts” and likely to evade some immune system responses, said Venky Soundararajan, a biological engineer who co-wrote the study.
“By virtue of omicron adopting this insertion … it is essentially taking a leaf out of the seasonal coronaviruses’ page, which [explains] … how it lives and transmits more efficiently with human beings,” he said.

If you noticed, the article doesn’t ONCE comply with the narrative and suggest getting a ‘vaccine’ for the variant (which was demonstrably mild even BEFORE Xiden’s travel ban).
If you read carefully, they’re blurring the lines between SARS-CoV-2 and the 200 or so varieties of viral causes of the ‘common cold’ and its symptoms (nevermind the garbage ‘science’ cited by the study and WaPo) to compel “mitigation measures”. IOW, this article is the latest evidence they intend to NEVER end the ‘crisis’.

Coincidentally, this variant is appearing 13-14 months prior to the 2022 election, just as the main Fauci Flu was unleashed about 13-14 months prior to the 2020 election. It wasn’t identified until a couple/few months later, but it had been out there since late 2019.

My daughter’s friend (age 25 and was athletic) had covid attack, and now has permanent damage to her heart. She loved going on mountain hikes before, now can not walk 400 steps before needing to sit. Her biggest regret is not getting vaccinated. Her hiking group were all vaccinated and never got sick from covid.
There’s many stories about deaths from the vaccines as well as deaths without the vaccines.
Sorry about your daughter’s friend but that doesn’t change the utterly Leftist political and lying nature of this whole COVID and vaxx thing.
Covid was and is poorly engineered coronavirus which largely affected and hurt a specific age group and co-morbid risk groups.
This omicron is being massaged into a “deadly” cold. Colds are deadly to the same risk groups if no prevention is in place (the known supplements, behaviours, nutrition, personal care and the ever popular social distancing... etc.).
